In StarRupture, blueprints are fixed pickups found in blue storage boxes at abandoned sites—not random drops. The Update 1 checklist covers 19 blueprint types and lists how many pickup locations are known for each. Use it to track what you have found, then search buildings carefully: blueprint sites are not marked for you on the in-game map.
How blueprint pickups work
- Look for blue storage boxes, usually inside buildings at abandoned bases. The game does not mark nearby blueprint pickups on your map, so you must search each site.
- Blueprints use a separate inventory slot rather than taking space in your main bag, and you keep them if you die.
- Picking up a duplicate has no extra effect.
- Ruins often have enemies nearby. The guide warns that sites farther from your starting ship tend to have more and tougher enemies, so bring ammunition and healing before heading out.
The checklist below follows the guide’s Update 1 coverage and its displayed map version, v20260717. Counts are the guide’s listed pickup locations for each blueprint type; they are not an independently verified total for every game version. See the StarRupture blueprint checklist and map.

Example locations and route planning
A community route index associates several blueprints with named destinations. These are route examples, not a guarantee that access or exact spawns will match every save or patch:
- Purple Haze: Rotor and Tube.
- Lemon Souls: Stator.
- Grey Owl: Stabilizer.
- Spored Rock: Chemicals; the route index flags infection pressure there.
- Mythic Cry: Synthetic Silicon.
- Main Engine / Forgotten Engine: Hardening Agent.
- Redleaf route: Valve, Turbine, and Electromagnetic Coil. The index describes heavy combat and reports keycard access.
The route index lists a checked release record of 0.2.8 and warns that route and access details can drift between hotfixes. Treat its guidance as community-reported and cross-check it against your current save: StarRupture Planner blueprint locations and routes.

Forgotten Engine entry requirement
To enter the Forgotten Engine interior, the checklist guide says you need a Power Cell. Craft it at the Basic Item Printer with Chemicals ×10 and Electronic Components ×10. This is a separate preparation requirement from finding the Hardening Agent blueprint at the Main Engine / Forgotten Engine route.
Blueprints removed in Update 1
Update 1 recipes no longer require blueprints for the Laser Emitter, Scanner, and Pressurized Tank, and their corresponding blueprint items no longer spawn in the world. Do not include these three in a search based on the 19-type checklist.

Using an interactive map
The companion interactive map includes pins for blueprints as well as War Bonds, LEMs, Geo-Scanners, exchange items, underground caves, and monoliths. Filter to blueprints when you want to plan a focused sweep; its pin locations are described as confirmed through play and updated over time. Many pins are near enemy spawn points, so use the map to plan an approach rather than assuming a pickup site is safe. Open the StarRupture interactive map.
Quick Recap
Rank #3
- In the far future, countless alien species explore the galaxy in search of fortune and fame. The last interstellar war ended over fifty years ago and since then peace treaties have been in effect. Trade routes are set, civilizations flourish, and a new source of power was discovered – the Hexis crystals.
- Star Scrappers: Cave-in is the first game in the Star Scrappers series, set in a rich and exciting space-western universe, with a unique gameplay mechanics.
- Players take roles of Galactic entrepreneurs, rival mining bosses who compete in this difficult, sometimes even merciless industry.
- As a mining boss, you will have to recruit new mercenary laborers, use their skills, and collect precious artifacts. Your job is to excavate the Hexis crystals but never let your guard down though, as your competition is waiting for a chance to buy off your trusted men and steal the bounty from under your nose! The goal of the game is to get as many victory points as possible before the crystal mine collapses.
- Star Scrappers: Cave-in uses a unique game mechanics called “discard building”. With every action taken, players put their mercenaries into their discard piles. The order of the discarded cards matters because your top card is your Leader and gives you a special action at the beginning of your next turn. Beware, if your discard pile grows too much, it will draw the attention of other players who will not hesitate to steal cards from you – they’re just bribing your men!
