Movement speed is only one part of a boot’s value. Compare its base defence, attribute and level requirements, defensive modifiers, and any trigger or condition against what your character needs. A fast pair may still offer little to a build that depends on a particular defence or interaction.
- Base and defence: Boots use Armour, Evasion, Energy Shield, or hybrid bases. Strength-oriented greaves are Armour; Dexterity-oriented boots are Evasion; Intelligence-oriented sandals are Energy Shield. Hybrid bases include sabatons, leggings, and shoes. The base helps indicate which defensive profile and attribute investment the item is built around.
- Requirements: Check the required level and attributes before planning around an item. A modifier is not useful if the character cannot equip the boots when needed.
- Movement speed: Compare the stated modifier, but do not treat it as a stand-alone ranking. Other stats and the effect’s conditions can matter more to a specific build.
