Borderlands 4 has eight weapon manufacturers: Order, Ripper, Daedalus, Tediore, Maliwan, Jakobs, Vladof, and Torgue. Its Licensed Parts system also brings components from Atlas, CoV, and Hyperion into weapons. Those are two different lists: the eight are the announced weapon makers, while the other three are documented contributors of licensed components.
The eight weapon manufacturers
PlayStation’s official announcement lists these eight manufacturers and identifies Order, Ripper, and Daedalus as new to long-time Borderlands fans. Read the April 30, 2025 announcement.

Additional manufacturers represented by Licensed Parts
Official Borderlands Support update notes document Licensed Parts from three other manufacturers: Atlas, CoV, and Hyperion. They belong in the broader manufacturer ecosystem, but are not part of the announced eight-name weapon-manufacturer roster.

|---|---|---|
| Atlas | Licensed parts and underbarrel attachments | January 29, 2026; April 30, 2026 |

How Licensed Parts affect a weapon
Licensed Parts let a gun incorporate behaviors and abilities associated with multiple manufacturers. As Epic’s interview with Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford explains, manufacturer identity still gives players a rough idea of how a weapon functions, even as parts cross-pollinate. Pitchford said: “Players have some recognition when they’re picking up a certain manufacturer’s weapon and have a rough idea of how it’s going to function,” Read the Epic Games Store interview.
In practice, the base manufacturer is not necessarily the whole story of a gun’s behavior. Check its actual parts and item card rather than assuming that every weapon from one maker behaves alike or that every licensed component can appear on every weapon type.
