Alpha Nomos launched on October 12, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is a rhythm-action roguelite from RibCage Games, built around timing protagonist Cello’s attacks and movement to the music. The launch trailer is titled “Alpha Nomos – Official Launch Trailer”; the available coverage does not provide a verifiable direct video link or a reliable shot-by-shot description.
What is Alpha Nomos?
Alpha Nomos is an action-adventure game with rhythm and action-roguelike elements, developed and published by RibCage Games. Players control Cello in a ruined world and fight rogue puppets. Its defining idea is that combat is tied to the soundtrack rather than being independent of it: players time their actions to the beat to build attacks and combos. Steam’s official listing describes combat as pulsing to the soundtrack, with moves timed to the beat.

How does the rhythm-based combat work?
RibCage Games describes strikes and dodges as landing in time with the music. In a July 23, 2026 Xbox Wire feature, studio CMO Theofanis Gavriilidis said, “Everything Cello does, every strike and every dodge, lands in time with the music.” He also described the intended feeling as “moving in perfect sync with a song.” Read the Xbox Wire developer feature.
The developer also presents instruments as weapons and says musical upgrades can change both combat and the soundtrack. Those details explain the game’s musical premise; they are developer descriptions, not independent performance or gameplay testing.
