As of October 6, 2026, PC Gamer reported a Newegg listing for an Andromeda Insights Spectra RX 9070 XT gaming PC at $1,749.99. That dated offer—not a guarantee of today’s price or the lowest deal everywhere—is the basis for saying Newegg had the better pick. Check the listing and checkout total before buying.
What the Newegg deal includes
PC Gamer’s October 6 deal report lists the Andromeda Insights Spectra with an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT featuring 16 GB of GDDR6, an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 16 GB of DDR5 system memory, a 1 TB SSD, and an 850 W Gold power supply. The reported price was $1,749.99. See PC Gamer’s deal report.
The headline’s comparison is time-sensitive: the report supports that Newegg had this offer on October 6, 2026. It does not establish that the price remains available, that Amazon has no comparable offer today, or that this is the lowest price at every retailer.
What you trade for the lower price
The Spectra pairs a powerful RX 9070 XT with a Ryzen 5 9600X, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. Its 16 GB memory capacity is the clearest compromise against several higher-priced Newegg alternatives, which list 32 GB. PC Gamer described RX 9070 XT prebuilts as commonly costing more than $2,000; that is the publisher’s editorial observation, not a comprehensive survey of the market.

PC Gamer’s deal report also quotes a Ryzen 5 9600X review attributed only to “our Nick”: “The first delivery in the current Zen 5 family is fast and cool, and a little cheaper than its predecessor. Nothing wrong with that but you might want to temper your expectations a little.” The excerpt does not provide Nick’s full name or role, so no further attribution is established.

PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 RX 9070 XT price watch listed the graphics card alone at $790.22 on Amazon and $799.99 at Newegg and Walmart. Those are dated retailer prices for a GPU, not complete gaming desktops or verified live checkout quotes. What to verify before buying
- Confirm the Spectra listing is still active and the RX 9070 XT, Ryzen 5 9600X, 16 GB DDR5, and 1 TB SSD match the reported configuration.
- Check who is selling the system, whether it is in stock, and whether shipping, taxes, or other checkout costs change the total.
- Compare the final price and seller terms with current alternatives. The October 7 category-page prices are snapshots, not promises of current availability.
- Decide whether the 16 GB of system memory and 1 TB SSD suit your needs, rather than comparing desktops by GPU and headline price alone.
