Amazon Prime Gaming’s Lord of the Rings promotion was a historical September 2024 offer, not a new release or a current claim opportunity. It featured four games: three delivered as GOG codes and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, which Prime members could play through Luna in supported countries. Amazon’s October 2026 Luna lineup does not list a Lord of the Rings game.
Which Lord of the Rings games were included?
Amazon announced the promotion on August 27, 2024, alongside the approaching season two premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Its announcement named three games; Amazon’s September content update added a fourth offer, LEGO The Hobbit.

The count of four is based on the titles named across Amazon’s August announcement and September content update. Amazon said Prime Gaming offers could vary by region; it did not describe the promotion as universally available.
How the two offer types differed
GOG codes for three games
Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition, LEGO The Lord of the Rings, and LEGO The Hobbit were offered as GOG codes. That meant redeeming through another storefront, rather than claiming access to those games through Luna. The promotion’s historical code offer does not establish whether a code already claimed remains redeemable now.

Luna play for Shadow of War
Shadow of War was offered through Amazon Luna in supported countries. Amazon described this as Luna access, not a code to keep. Luna’s current page describes Prime membership as including a rotating selection of games, so access through a cloud-gaming offer should not be treated as equivalent to owning a permanent download.
Can you claim these games through Prime Gaming now?
There is no basis to treat the September 2024 promotion as a current claim offer. Amazon’s October 6, 2026 Luna update lists that month’s Prime games and includes no Lord of the Rings title. That monthly listing does not establish whether a previously claimed GOG code can still be redeemed, or whether a separate retail copy is available.

For current offers, Amazon’s general claim guide says to sign in with Prime credentials, browse available offers, select Claim, and follow the instructions. Depending on the offer, redemption may involve an external storefront, a linked launcher account, or the Amazon Games app. That general guidance is not a guarantee that the 2024 GOG claim flow is still available.

If you want to play one of these games outside the old promotion, check a current listing for the specific title and platform before buying. Amazon’s Games at Amazon page has a route to shop for video games, but its general shopping link does not verify current stock, format, platform, seller, or condition for any of these titles.
