On eligible Windows PCs, it sets up a group of local-AI and creative tools rather than installing one new AMD model or making the bundle mandatory for Adrenalin users.
The package is intended to remove much of the manual work involved in configuring an AMD software stack. AMD says a complete installation needs about 35 GB of free disk space and an internet connection, and eligibility depends on your exact Radeon or Ryzen AI hardware.

What is the AMD AI Bundle in Adrenalin?
AMD presents the AI Bundle as an optional component of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition. It is best understood as a curated installer and development toolkit: Adrenalin downloads and configures several third-party and AMD-supported applications that can be used for local language-model work, image generation, creative workflows, and software development.
It is not a standalone graphics card, a replacement for Adrenalin, or a single artificial-intelligence model. You do not need it to use ordinary Radeon graphics features, game settings, recording tools, or driver updates. If you do not plan to run local AI applications, leaving the option unselected avoids the download and disk-space requirement.

- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
AMD’s January 21, 2026 announcement calls the goal “next-level simplicity to local AI setup.” That wording is AMD’s product positioning, attributed to Warren Eng, Product Marketing Manager; it is not an independent performance test. The installer and the applications it retrieves can change over time, so treat the bundle as a convenience layer rather than a permanently fixed software edition.
What does the AMD AI Bundle install?
AMD’s FAQ lists five applications or application groups. Their roles are different, so choose the bundle based on the work you want to do rather than assuming every tool is required.
| Included component | What AMD says it is for | Details included in the bundle |
|---|---|---|
| PyTorch on Windows | Developing and running PyTorch code on AMD-powered Windows systems | Visual Studio Code, Python 3.12.0, and a recent PyTorch ROCm version |
| ComfyUI | Visual workflows for image generation and large-language-model outputs | Uses the ROCm version of PyTorch on Windows for acceleration |
| Ollama | Running local large language models for text generation, prototyping, and automation | Can be used through code, a command line, or an application interface |
| LM Studio | Installing and running large language models through a desktop application | Provides an application-based workflow for local model use |
| Amuse | One of the applications listed in AMD’s AI Bundle FAQ | AMD’s introductory component description provides less detail than it does for the other tools |
PyTorch on Windows
The PyTorch portion is aimed at developers and technically minded users. AMD says the bundle supplies Visual Studio Code, Python 3.12.0, and a recent PyTorch build using ROCm. That gives you an editor, a Python runtime, and a framework prepared for AMD hardware, instead of requiring you to assemble each part manually.

PyTorch projects can have their own version, memory, and dependency requirements, and the bundle does not establish one permanent version for every included component.
ComfyUI
ComfyUI uses a node-based visual workflow for image generation and other AI outputs. AMD describes the bundled Windows version as accelerated by its ROCm PyTorch build. This is the most visual option in the package and may appeal to game artists, mod creators, and people experimenting with concept images without building a Python pipeline first.
Ollama
Ollama is the command-friendly option for local language-model experiments. AMD describes uses including text generation, prototyping, and automation through code, a command line, or an application interface. It is suited to users who want to connect a local model to scripts or development projects as well as those who simply want to experiment with local text generation.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs

LM Studio
LM Studio presents local language-model work in a desktop application. AMD describes it as a way to install and run large language models through an app, making it a more graphical alternative for users who would rather not begin with command-line tools.
Amuse
Amuse appears in AMD’s FAQ as one of the bundle applications. AMD’s introductory component list does not explain it in the same depth as PyTorch, ComfyUI, Ollama, or LM Studio, so regard its inclusion as part of the package rather than infer capabilities that AMD has not documented in these materials.
Is my Radeon or Ryzen AI PC supported?
AMD’s FAQ lists these hardware families:
- Radeon RX 9000 series graphics.
- Radeon RX 7000 series graphics, with Radeon RX 7700 series or higher required within that generation.
- Ryzen AI Max processors.
- Ryzen AI 400 processors.
- Ryzen AI 300 processors.
Those categories do not mean every computer that can install Adrenalin can install the AI Bundle. Laptop configurations, regional availability, operating-system details, and future driver changes can affect eligibility. Check the current AMD AI Bundle FAQ for your exact GPU or processor model immediately before installing; the list is the authority for a changing feature.
A discrete graphics card is relevant only if your existing system lacks eligible hardware. A Radeon RX 9070 is an example from a supported generation, but AMD’s support list does not make that model a requirement, and it does not establish that buying any particular card is the right upgrade for your computer. Confirm the card’s fit, power requirements, and current availability separately.
Requirements before you install
Storage
AMD says the full AI Bundle needs about 35 GB of available disk space, according to its 2026 FAQ. That is an approximate requirement for the complete package, not a guarantee that every future component release will occupy exactly that amount. If you want only part of the toolkit, AMD says individual application sizes can be viewed through Custom Install or AMD Installer Manager before you commit.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsInternet access
An internet connection is required. AMD explains that some components are downloaded from third-party developer websites, so a driver installer that already exists on your PC cannot complete the bundle offline.

Windows and Adrenalin
The package is designed for eligible AMD-powered Windows systems and is selected during an AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition installation or update. The available choices can vary with system configuration, according to AMD’s Windows installation guidance.
Regional download access
AMD’s Adrenalin 26.9.2 optional-driver release notes, updated September 29, 2026, record a known issue: installation may fail for AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to Hugging Face and GitHub. This is a region-specific issue reported for that release, not evidence that every installation fails. Check newer release notes and make sure your network can reach the required hosts.
How to install the AI Bundle in AMD Adrenalin
- Confirm eligibility. Identify the exact Radeon GPU or Ryzen AI processor in Windows and compare it with AMD’s current AI Bundle FAQ. Do not rely solely on the fact that Adrenalin itself is installed.
- Prepare storage and connectivity. Reserve about 35 GB for the full package, or use the installer’s component-size information if you intend to select fewer applications. Connect to a reliable internet connection.
- Start an Adrenalin installation or update. Run the current AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition installer for your system. The AI Bundle is an optional selection during this process, not a separate product download that must be installed first.
- Open the custom component choices. Select Custom Install when that option is offered. AMD’s installation article notes that available options vary by system configuration, so the wording and list may not be identical on every PC.
- Select AI Bundle components. Choose the AI Bundle or its individual components shown by the installer. Review the displayed sizes in Custom Install or AMD Installer Manager and deselect tools you do not need.
- Approve the downloads and installation. Continue through the installer and allow it to retrieve the applications from their required sources. Keep the connection active until the process reports completion.
- Launch each tool once. Open the applications you selected and complete any first-run setup they request. PyTorch projects may need their own packages or model files, while local-model applications handle model setup within their respective workflows.
The exact component versions are not permanently fixed by the FAQ. If a later Adrenalin release changes the application list, sizes, or labels, follow the current installer display rather than an older screenshot or guide.
What the bundle changes for a gaming PC
The AI Bundle does not replace the gaming functions of Adrenalin. Its value is that it puts development and creative tools beside your existing graphics software. A player who only wants higher frame rates, driver updates, or Radeon tuning can skip it. A game developer, modder, streamer, or artist who wants to test local text or image workflows may prefer the convenience of a prepared stack.
Local execution can reduce the need to send prompts or files to a remote service, but the bundle itself does not establish a privacy policy for every included application. Review each application’s own settings and documentation before using confidential material. Likewise, AMD’s materials describe the intended workflows but do not provide independent benchmarks for speed, image quality, model capacity, or game performance.

AMD’s FAQ gives separate manual folder-deletion instructions for ComfyUI and the PyTorch libraries. Do not assume that removing one Windows app entry removes every file belonging to those components. Follow AMD’s current FAQ steps for those folders, and back up projects or environments you still need before deleting anything.
Troubleshooting installation problems
The AI Bundle option is missing
Recheck the exact hardware model against AMD’s live eligibility list. Then confirm that you are running the Windows Adrenalin installer or updater and look for its custom component choices. AMD says options can vary by system configuration, so a missing option is not proof that the entire Adrenalin package is broken.
The installer runs out of space
Free additional storage or use Custom Install to select fewer components. AMD’s approximate 35 GB figure applies to the full bundle; the installer or AMD Installer Manager can show individual application sizes before installation.
A component download fails
Check your internet connection and the regional-access warning in the Adrenalin 26.9.2 release notes. If you are in a region with limited access to Hugging Face or GitHub, the failure may match AMD’s documented issue. Check for a newer Adrenalin release and its updated notes before retrying.
One application will not remove normally
Use Windows Installed apps or Programs and Features for Amuse, LM Studio, Ollama, Python 3.12.0, and Visual Studio Code. For ComfyUI or PyTorch libraries, use the manual folder-removal procedure in AMD’s FAQ rather than deleting random directories.
Who should install it?
- Install it if you have supported hardware, enough storage, and a concrete plan to use local language models, image workflows, or PyTorch development.
- Install selected components if you know whether you prefer a graphical tool such as LM Studio or ComfyUI, or a developer-oriented setup such as Ollama and PyTorch.
- Skip it if your PC is used only for gaming and you do not want approximately 35 GB devoted to AI applications.
The practical decision is readiness, not a benchmark claim: verify your exact hardware, check the available disk space, ensure the required download hosts are reachable, and select only the workflows you expect to use.
