If Amenti crashes on startup or while you’re playing, work through these eight checks in order: compare your PC with the game’s listed requirements, restart, update Windows and your graphics driver, verify the game files, and test for software conflicts. These are general troubleshooting steps—not eight confirmed Amenti-specific cures. The only Amenti-specific community workaround found here concerns graphics or texture trouble, not crashes.
1. Check Amenti’s PC requirements
Compare your hardware and Windows version with the requirements on Amenti’s Steam store page. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that the game will run without crashes, but checking them can help identify a basic compatibility gap before you change settings or buy hardware.

If your PC falls below a listed requirement, note the difference when diagnosing the crash. The requirements alone do not establish that a particular component is causing it.

Save your work, restart Windows, then open Steam and try Amenti again. Steam recommends starting troubleshooting with a fresh restart for games that fail to launch. This simple check can clear temporary issues, but it is not a confirmed Amenti-specific fix.

3. Install available Windows updates
Check Windows Update and install updates offered for your PC, then restart if Windows asks you to. Steam’s general launch guidance recommends updating Windows when a game does not start. It does not identify a particular Windows update as a fix for Amenti.
4. Check your graphics card and driver
An outdated graphics driver can affect game performance or launch. First identify your GPU and driver version so you can choose the correct update source rather than installing a driver at random.

- Press Windows + R, enter
dxdiag, and press Enter. - In DirectX Diagnostic Tool, check the Display tab for graphics-device details and driver information.
- Use the appropriate driver source: NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel. On a laptop, check its manufacturer’s support page as well, since the laptop maker may provide a compatible driver.
Steam’s game-launch troubleshooting guidance recommends checking drivers. If updating does not change the symptom, note the driver version rather than repeatedly installing third-party driver tools.
5. Verify Amenti’s installed files
Steam can check the local installation and replace files that fail verification. This is a useful check if Amenti crashes on startup or began crashing after an update.

- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click Amenti and select Properties.
- Choose Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for the check to finish; Steam notes that verification may take several minutes.
Steam says some local configuration files may not pass verification and that this can be normal; those files are not necessarily a sign that the game installation is broken. See Steam’s file-verification instructions.
6. Test with nonessential background apps closed
A background application can interfere with a game’s launch. For one test, close nonessential apps you normally run alongside Steam, then try Amenti again. Treat this as a temporary diagnostic, not a reason to disable security protection wholesale. If the game behaves differently, reopen apps individually to narrow down a possible conflict.

7. Try the reported graphics option only for visual problems
If your main symptom is missing or corrupted textures—not a general crash—you can optionally test the Steam launch option -dx11. A Steam Community participant reported that it resolved texture loading in a particular area, and another user described entering the option in the game’s Steam properties. This is an anecdotal graphics workaround, not an official or established fix for Amenti crashing.

- In Steam Library, right-click Amenti and open Properties.
- Find the Launch Options field and enter
-dx11. - Launch the game and check whether the specific graphics problem changes.
The report appeared in a Steam Community discussion in January 2025. Remove -dx11 from Launch Options if it makes the problem worse or has no relevance to your symptom.

8. Record the crash details and contact support
If Amenti still crashes, the timing and error details can help support investigate instead of guessing. Epic’s general Unreal Engine GPU crash-debugging documentation explains how crash callstacks and logs can assist with investigating GPU crashes. That guidance does not establish that Amenti uses a particular engine version or that a GPU issue is causing your crash.
When contacting the developer, include your PC specifications, GPU driver version, whether the crash happens before the main menu or during play, what you were doing when it occurred, and any error message, crash report, log, or callstack available to you. Amenti’s Steam technical-support page lists Darkphobia Games and [email protected] for support.
Choose the next check by symptom
- Crashes before the main menu: prioritize requirements, a restart, Windows and driver updates, and file verification.
- Crashes during play: note where and when it occurs, then test the reversible software checks and record any error details.
- Visual corruption without a crash: the
-dx11report may be worth an optional test, but it is not evidence of a crash fix. - PC below a published requirement: record the mismatch; the available information does not diagnose a specific hardware upgrade.
Steam’s general troubleshooting supports checking updates and drivers, verifying files, and reducing possible software conflicts. None is a guaranteed Amenti fix, and there are no established crash-rate or fix-success statistics for ranking these steps.
