What is the car DLC in American Truck Simulator?
SCS Software’s Road Trip: Ford release announcement says the DLC unlocks Car Mode, related features, and four personal cars:
- 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback
- 2023 Ford F-150
- 2023 Ford Bronco
- 1998–2012 Ford Crown Victoria
Road Trip: Ford is the first release in SCS’s Road Trip project. The pack is not limited to free driving: SCS also describes car customization, smaller delivery work, courier reputation, Atlas exploration, and Convoy play.
What can you do in Car Mode?
Customize and drive cars
SCS describes accessories and paint options for customizing the cars. Its August 2026 Car Dealer walkthrough says the in-game desktop’s Car Dealer tab is where players browse brands, models, and colors; available brands depend on which car-pack DLCs they own. The walkthrough predates release, so if the current interface differs, follow the labels shown in your game.

The same walkthrough identifies My Cars as the garage area for viewing, managing, selling, and configuring owned vehicles, including paint and exterior and interior parts.
Take smaller jobs
SCS lists Quick Jobs and the Dispatch Market as ways to take smaller deliveries in Car Mode. The DLC also includes a courier reputation system; the announcement does not specify exact reputation thresholds or rewards.

Explore with Atlas
Atlas lets players discover locations and collect postcards. At launch, SCS listed Atlas and Tourist Boards for California and the Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota map content. The release announcement said other states would be added in future updates; that initial list should not be treated as a statement of current coverage.
Play Convoy with cars and trucks
SCS says friends can join Convoy sessions with cars and trucks sharing highways. The release post also says Road Trip: Ford owners can use Atlas while driving a truck, so some DLC functionality is relevant even if you do not plan to drive a car.

How do you drive cars in ATS?
The official materials cited here do not provide a verified, car-specific list of keyboard bindings, controller mappings, or steering-wheel settings. Rather than assume truck controls or invent defaults, check the current in-game controls and settings for your device.
- Open the game’s current controls or input settings and select the keyboard, controller, or wheel you are using.
- Review the bindings displayed in-game for the controls you need, such as steering, acceleration, braking, and other driving functions.
- Use the game’s Quick Info for controls and local-regulation information while playing. SCS’s 1.58 update material describes Quick Info as a place for this information and notes wheel input for interface navigation; it does not establish a complete set of car-driving bindings.
Do cars follow the same traffic rules as trucks?
The confirmed point is that cars and trucks share highways during Convoy play. SCS’s 1.58 update material says local-regulation information is surfaced in Quick Info, but the official sources cited here do not spell out a car-specific traffic-rule system, exact penalties, right-of-way enforcement differences, or a complete list of traffic mechanics. Check the current in-game regulation information rather than assuming cars are treated differently from trucks.
