How to find a villager’s birthday
Nookipedia’s community-maintained New Horizons villager birthday list is organized by month and date. Use it to look up a specific villager or scan for birthday twins. Dates can be shared: for example, Sherb and Chelsea are both listed on January 18, while Quinn and Opal share January 20.

The list is a useful reference, not an official Nintendo roster. A separate page updated January 15, 2026, reports four amiibo-exclusive villagers added around the New Horizons 3.0 update and Switch 2 rerelease: Mineru and Tulin from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Cece and Viché from Splatoon. Its birthday table contains apparent text corruption, so the birthdays for those four should not be treated as verified from that page alone.

For residents on your own island, the Island Bulletin Board is a convenient in-game check for upcoming birthdays. Play Nintendo advises: “You can check out the Island Bulletin Board for info on upcoming birthdays.” This is especially useful when you want to know whose birthday is approaching among your current island residents; an external calendar is better for searching the full month-by-month list or finding a birthday twin.

How to celebrate a villager’s birthday
When a resident’s birthday arrives, visit that villager’s house to celebrate. Play Nintendo’s neighbor tips describe visiting a resident’s home for their birthday celebration.

During resident setup, you choose your own character’s birthday by selecting a month and day. Nintendo Support says: “Character names, island names, and birthdays cannot be changed after you confirm them.” That setting is your player character’s birthday; it does not change any villager’s birthday.
