To complete Shani’s “A Lay of the Land” quest, find the shipping notes in the upstairs foreman’s office at Jiangsu Warehouse, pick up a LiDAR Scanner from the upper floor of Control Tower A6, extract with it, then deliver it to Shani. The warehouse and tower objectives must be completed in the same round, so collect the notes first and head to A6 without extracting in between.
What you need to do in one round
Shani’s quest lists four objectives, all marked “In One Round”: reach Jiangsu Warehouse, find the shipping notes in the foreman’s office, locate scanners on the upper floor of Control Tower A6, and deliver one LiDAR Scanner to Shani. The listed rewards are one Dam Testing Annex Key, three Ziplines, and two Smoke Grenades. PC Gamer’s quest listing gives the objective wording and rewards.

- Reach Jiangsu Warehouse and collect the shipping notes.
- Go to Control Tower A6 and pick up a LiDAR Scanner.
- Extract successfully with the scanner in your inventory.
- Return to Shani and hand over the scanner.
Extraction is required: reaching A6 and taking the item is not enough if you fail to leave the round with it. PC Gamer and the quest reference both identify the objectives as a single-round task.

Find the shipping notes in the foreman’s office
Jiangsu Warehouse
Jiangsu Warehouse is in the northwest part of Spaceport. Enter the warehouse and go upstairs to the foreman’s office. The shipping notes are on the desk; interact with them to complete that objective. GameSpot’s walkthrough describes the location and route inside the building.

Locate the scanners on the upper floor of Control Tower A6
Enter and search the upper rooms
From Jiangsu Warehouse, cross to Control Tower A6. GameSpot’s route enters from the front-left side, continues through the interior door, and follows the stairs upward. At the upper floor, turn right and search the rooms; the LiDAR Scanner is in a box in an office-like area. Interact with the box and make sure you actually pick up the scanner before leaving. GameSpot’s walkthrough provides these directions.
A separate guide identifies the target as the accessible upper interior floor of the smaller, square Flight Control Office, rather than a locked upper room in the nearby tall tower. It also reports that a Spaceport Control Tower key is not needed. This building-identification detail comes from a secondary guide, not an official developer statement. Extract with the scanner and return to Shani
Once the scanner is in your inventory, make a successful extraction. Then deliver one LiDAR Scanner to Shani to finish the quest. If you do not extract with the item, the required delivery cannot be completed from that round. The quest listing specifies the Shani hand-in, while PC Gamer’s guide states that extraction with the scanner is required.

- Visit Jiangsu Warehouse before A6 so you can complete both location objectives in the same round.
- At A6, search the accessible upper interior rooms and confirm the scanner has gone into your inventory.
- After pickup, prioritize a successful extraction rather than treating the scanner objective as complete.
The available walkthroughs provide a route but do not establish an exact fastest completion time or a route guaranteed to be safe. Travel and extraction risk can vary from run to run.
