Deep Rock Galactic is the closest structural match: four-player teamwork, resource gathering, hostile creatures, destructible environments, and an escape-oriented mission loop without player combat in its cited core description. Choose Helldivers 2 for the strongest four-player, third-person objective shooter, or Warhammer 40,000: Darktide for class-based melee-and-ranged horde fighting.
All three deliver games like Arc Raiders but PvE, yet none reproduces every part of its scavenging sandbox. ARC Raiders remains a multiplayer extraction adventure in which players search a lethal future Earth for valuable loot while coping with ARC machines and other raiders. Its official site listed a dated PvE Toggle Beta Test for October 13–20, 2026; that test should not be treated as proof of a permanent Arc Raiders without PvP mode.

What Arc Raiders is—and what a friendlier replacement needs to preserve
Embark describes ARC Raiders as a multiplayer extraction adventure set on a future Earth ravaged by a mysterious mechanized threat called ARC. The defining tension is PvPvE: you scavenge valuable equipment, deal with machine enemies, decide how much loot to risk carrying, and remain vulnerable to other raiders before extraction.

1. Deep Rock Galactic: the closest co-op extraction-style substitute
Deep Rock Galactic is the strongest answer when the question is, “What is the closest co-op extraction shooter to Arc Raiders without hostile players?” Its official Steam description calls it “a 1-4 player co-op FPS featuring dwarven space miners, procedurally-generated destructible environments, and endless hordes of alien monsters.” That sentence captures why it maps so well: a team enters a dangerous place, gathers valuable resources, completes objectives, survives creatures, and must work together to get out.
Why the structure feels familiar
- Resource pressure: Mining and collecting materials give exploration a practical purpose rather than making every room a simple combat arena.
- Procedural caves: Destructible terrain changes routes and creates the same kind of spatial uncertainty that makes scavenging runs memorable.
- Four distinct classes: Each class contributes a recognizable role, so a squad’s composition changes how it handles traversal, swarms, and objectives.
- Threat without player ambushes: The cited core description contains alien monsters and no PvP, removing the social unpredictability of another raider stealing your run.
- Escape-flavored completion: Missions are not simply won when the final enemy falls; the team still has to coordinate its way through the end of the operation.
Ghost Ship Games’ official site summarizes the cooperative philosophy as “TEAMWORK IS KEY.” That is not just a slogan: the game’s appeal comes from combining class abilities, sharing attention between mining and defense, and keeping a separated teammate alive when a cave turns hostile.
Where it differs from ARC Raiders
Deep Rock Galactic is first-person and mission-based. It does not recreate the third-person surface-scavenging atmosphere, the uncertainty of meeting another human squad, or the exact risk-and-reward economy of extracting with loot that another player could take. Its danger comes from procedural terrain, objectives, and alien hordes instead of PvPvE mind games.
That difference is an advantage if your priority is a cooperative session in which failure can be discussed and improved rather than blamed on an unseen ambush. It is a disadvantage if the part you love most is stalking another team, listening for footsteps, or deciding whether to leave early with a rare haul.

Who should choose it
Pick Deep Rock Galactic if you want the closest blend of exploration, gathering, teamwork, and extraction-flavored tension while removing player-versus-player combat. It is also the best fit for groups that want a four-class structure and procedural environments to keep repeated missions from feeling identical.
Price context
The Steam US storefront showed Deep Rock Galactic at $29.99 on October 17, 2026. That is a snapshot of the checked storefront, not a guaranteed future price; regional pricing and promotions can change.
2. Helldivers 2: the best four-player PvE mission shooter
Helldivers 2 is the clearest choice for players who mainly want a squad, a third-person camera, explosive equipment, and objectives against alien threats. PlayStation’s official description calls it “a frenetic third-person co-operative team shooter” in which players fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy.
Why it works as an Arc Raiders alternative
- Third-person perspective: The camera is closer to ARC Raiders than Deep Rock Galactic’s first-person view.
- Up to four players: A full squad can coordinate roles, targets, movement, and support equipment.
- Loadouts and stratagems: Players bring planned equipment and call in powerful battlefield support, creating meaningful preparation choices.
- Objective-driven missions: The team enters a mission with a clear task, adapts to enemy pressure, and aims to complete the operation rather than simply clear every opponent.
- Alien opposition: The cited description centers on hostile galactic threats, not human raiders.
The friendliness trade-off
Helldivers 2 is PvE, but it is not gentle. Friendly fire is part of the combat model, so a badly placed explosive, turret, or orbital strike can kill a teammate. Higher difficulty also turns movement, ammunition, reinforcement timing, and objective order into serious team decisions.
That makes it a good replacement for the excitement of an ARC Raiders run, not for the calmest possible cooperative experience. You avoid enemy players, but you still need voice communication and situational awareness. The game’s pressure comes from mission objectives, enemy swarms, limited safety, and the consequences of calling support at the wrong moment.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
What it does not replace
Helldivers 2 is mission-based rather than a loot-extraction sandbox. The cited material does not describe a scavenging economy in which you search a large map for valuables and choose when to cash out. If your ideal games like Arc Raiders but PvE experience is primarily about exploring, collecting, and escaping with a haul, Deep Rock Galactic is a closer fit.

Choose Helldivers 2 when your group values four-player coordination, third-person shooting, dramatic equipment, and a clear objective more than persistent scavenging. It is the strongest option for a squad that wants to feel like a military unit executing a dangerous operation.

The PlayStation US storefront showed a standard price of $39.99 on October 17, 2026. Store prices, editions, and regional availability can change, so verify the listing for your territory before buying.
3. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide: the class-based horde-combat option
Darktide is the right recommendation when “friendlier” means removing PvP while keeping relentless combat, class roles, and online teamwork. Its Steam page describes a co-op-focused shooter with online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer, combining melee and ranged combat against hordes.
What makes it compelling
- Role-based squads: Class identity gives each player a job and encourages deliberate team composition.
- Melee and ranged combat: The rhythm alternates between close-quarters pressure and firearm control rather than relying on one shooting style.
- Horde intensity: Large enemy groups create immediate crowd-management problems and reward coordinated target priority.
- Cross-platform multiplayer: The cited Steam material explicitly identifies cross-platform online co-op.
Why it is a weaker Arc Raiders substitute
Darktide is primarily a combat game. It is much less about wandering through a space, evaluating loot, gathering resources, or deciding how long to remain in an extraction zone. Its atmosphere is also substantially more graphic: the melee focus and Warhammer 40,000 setting make gore a central part of the presentation.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
In other words, Darktide replaces ARC Raiders’ player-versus-player uncertainty with enemy density and role execution, not with a similar scavenger adventure. It is the best of these three for intense class synergy and the weakest for exploration.
Who should choose it
Select Darktide if your group wants a cooperative horde shooter with strong class roles, substantial melee combat, and cross-platform online play. Avoid it if your main reasons for seeking Arc Raiders without PvP are quieter exploration, resource gathering, or a less graphic tone.
Price context
The fetched Steam page displayed a sale price in Australian dollars for its regional storefront. A US price was not captured, so check the current listing for your country rather than converting that figure into a US recommendation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which game matches the part of ARC Raiders you want to keep?
If you want scavenging and extraction-like tension
Start with Deep Rock Galactic. Its mining, resource objectives, destructible caves, alien threats, and coordinated return phase preserve more of the expedition feeling than the other alternatives. You still trade away third-person combat and human-raider encounters.
If you want third-person four-player missions
Choose Helldivers 2. It is the most direct camera and squad-size match among the three, with a strong focus on coordinated objectives and equipment. Accept that missions are not loot runs and that friendly fire can punish mistakes.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
If you want classes and nonstop combat
Choose Darktide. Its class-based melee/ranged design and horde encounters provide the deepest combat-role identity here. Accept that exploration, scavenging, and extraction atmosphere are not its focus.
If you want the least exposure to hostile players
All three cited descriptions frame their core activities around cooperative teams fighting creatures, alien threats, or hordes rather than player-versus-player raiders. Deep Rock Galactic states the clearest no-PvP fit in the supplied descriptions; Helldivers 2 and Darktide are likewise presented as cooperative PvE shooters. Their challenges remain serious even without enemy players.
A practical decision path
- Decide whether loot collection is essential. If yes, begin with Deep Rock Galactic; if no, continue.
- Choose your camera. Pick Helldivers 2 for third-person play or Deep Rock Galactic for first-person mining and traversal. Darktide’s cited description emphasizes combat roles rather than a camera match.
- Choose your preferred pressure. Deep Rock Galactic stresses terrain, objectives, and alien swarms; Helldivers 2 adds friendly fire and punishing support calls; Darktide emphasizes melee/ranged crowd control and gore.
- Check your group size and platform needs. Deep Rock Galactic supports 1–4 players, Helldivers 2 supports up to four, and Darktide’s cited Steam material confirms cross-platform online co-op but does not state a squad number in the supplied description.
- Verify the live store listing. The recorded prices are dated snapshots from October 17, 2026, and Darktide’s captured price was regional rather than US.
What “friendlier” does—and does not—mean
Removing PvP eliminates one kind of stress: another human squad cannot deliberately ambush you, take your position, or exploit the same extraction window. It does not guarantee an easy game.
- Deep Rock Galactic: Alien hordes, cave layouts, objectives, and the return phase can still overwhelm an uncoordinated team.
- Helldivers 2: Friendly fire means teammates remain a direct danger, especially around explosives and support strikes; high difficulty raises the cost of mistakes.
- Darktide: Dense hordes, mixed melee and ranged threats, and heavy gore make it the harshest combat presentation of the three.
The useful distinction is between socially friendlier and mechanically easier. These games are friendlier because the cited core loops are cooperative PvE, not because they remove danger, failure, or the need for communication.
How the PvE Toggle Beta changes the Arc Raiders question
The official ARC Raiders site listed a PvE Toggle Beta Test for October 13–20, 2026. That is relevant for anyone searching for Arc Raiders alternatives, because a temporary toggle may let players sample a less adversarial version of the original game.
However, a scheduled beta is not the same as a permanent PvE-only playlist. Treat the test as a dated opportunity whose rules, availability, and continuation require confirmation from Embark. If you need a reliably cooperative game today, the three alternatives above are safer recommendations because their cited descriptions are built around co-op PvE rather than a temporary test.
Final recommendation
Deep Rock Galactic is the best overall answer for a player who wants an Arc Raiders without PvP experience that still feels like a dangerous expedition. It retains resource gathering, traversal, teamwork, hostile creatures, and an escape-oriented finish. Helldivers 2 is the better pick for a four-player third-person mission shooter, while Darktide is the better pick for class-based horde combat and cross-platform co-op. None is a one-to-one replacement, but each removes the specific player-versus-player pressure that motivated the search.
