For PvE farming, consider a Ferro with a Rattler. These are guide-supported starting points, not tested best-in-slot builds: choose for your raid goal, engagement distance, and what you can afford to replace. Which budget build fits your run?
| Raid goal | Starting build | What it suits | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget PvP or mixed run | Basic/free Kettle with a Stitcher | A low-cost, flexible starting point for runs where you may encounter other Raiders as well as ARC machines. | It is a practical starting setup, not a guaranteed advantage. The guides do not establish a universal best weapon pairing for every fight or range. |
| Low-cost PvE farming | Ferro with a Rattler; Looting Mk.1 is also listed | A farming-focused option when the main aim is dealing with ARC and collecting loot. | A third-party guide estimates the build at about 800 coins; that is not an official or independently verified current price. |
| Beginner or low-risk practice | Free loadout, or a cheaply crafted Kettle/Stitcher setup; the beginner guide recommends a Light Shield and basic healing | Learning routes and handling encounters without committing to an expensive kit. | Free-loadout rules can depend on current game conditions. Confirm the rules in game, particularly after updates. |
| More specialized ARC fighting | Hullcracker with Bettina | A higher-investment option recommended by one guide for ARC combat. | This is not the cheapest build and should not be treated as a budget default. |
Budget PvP and mixed runs: Kettle with Stitcher
TheArcRaiders.com lists a Kettle/Stitcher build at about 500 coins. That is a third-party guide estimate, not an official price, a measured result, or a promise that the kit will cost the same in your current game. Check the live price and what you already own before committing to the estimate.

The Kettle and Stitcher combination is a reasonable low-investment starting point when a run could involve both Raiders and ARC. A different guide also suggests using a Ferro with a close-range Stitcher or Rattler, emphasizing that the preferred pairing depends on how you intend to fight. Think about expected engagement distance and your willingness to disengage rather than treating any pairing as effective at every range.

This recommendation is better matched to a raid centered on ARC encounters and loot than to a build intended to cover every player-versus-player situation. If a run’s purpose changes, reconsider the weapon roles and the cost of replacing them rather than carrying a farming setup into a different job by default.
Build a kit around replacement cost, not just weapon choice
A cheap weapon is only one part of an economical loadout. Consider how the shield affects mobility and survivability, whether your kit covers the encounters you expect, how much loot you want to carry, and the total cost of replacing what you lose. For practice, a free loadout or low-cost crafted setup can reduce the stakes, but verify which free-loadout rules apply to your current conditions.

The ARC Raiders Hub’s workshop reference says players begin with a free basic bench that can craft basic weapons and most ammunition. Its listed craftable items include Ferro, Kettle, Stitcher, Light Shield, several ammunition types, Shield Recharger, Bandage, and Light Impact Grenade. This makes basic crafting a useful planning reference, but the community page does not establish current material costs for each recipe. Why the most expensive kit is not automatically the best value
In a January 14, 2026 interview reported by GamesRadar+, Embark design lead Virgil Watkins said, “Cost should not inherently fill a skill gap or a tactical awareness gap or things like that.” Watkins also acknowledged that some high-tier weapons had cost-benefit ratios that were off and said Embark might adjust rarity or crafting and upgrade materials. That interview does not establish that a particular later adjustment shipped, so use it as context—not as evidence of current prices or balance: GamesRadar+ interview report.
