ARC Raiders does not currently provide a verified in-game Brightness, Gamma, HDR, or Display Calibration slider. To improve visibility, reduce motion blur, adjust graphics settings that affect image clarity, and use your PC’s GPU controls or your television/monitor’s picture settings. Avoid guides that recommend a “Brightness +10%” option, a Volumetric Fog toggle, or developer-console commands: those controls are not listed in the current settings reference, and the previously abused NewConsole exploit was removed.
This applies to the current version of ARC Raiders, listed as available on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW. The official site currently shows Store Update 1.40.0, dated August 4, 2026. The game supports cross-platform social play across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
How to open the relevant settings
From the Speranza lobby or while active Topside, press Esc on PC to open Settings. Settings cannot be opened while you are downed or spectating.

What ARC Raiders actually offers for visibility
The current indexed settings reference lists no Brightness, Gamma, HDR, or Display Calibration control under Graphics or Display. Its graphics options begin with Field of View, Motion Blur, and Motion Blur Intensity.
That means there is no supported in-game slider that simply makes every dark area brighter. Visibility improvements instead come from reducing blur, choosing an appropriate field of view, preserving image detail, and calibrating the display outside the game.
Best in-game settings for a clearer image
Turn down Motion Blur
Motion Blur is On by default, while Motion Blur Intensity ranges from 0 to 100 and defaults to 100. Turn Motion Blur off, or set its intensity close to 0, if movement makes enemies, loot, or environmental details difficult to identify. This does not brighten the game, but it removes a major source of softness during camera movement.
Choose Field of View deliberately
Field of View ranges from 60 to 80, with 70 as the default. A higher value shows more of the surrounding area, which can help with peripheral awareness, but it also makes objects appear smaller. A lower value can make distant targets easier to see at the cost of a narrower view.
Start at 70. Increase it if close-range awareness is the problem; decrease it if distant objects and targets look too small. Field of View is an awareness and readability setting, not a brightness control.
Use the quality controls to protect detail
Under Graphics > Quality, the available controls include View Distance, Anti-Aliasing, Shadows, Post-Processing, Texture, Effects, Reflections, Foliage, and Global Illumination Resolution.
- View Distance: affects how far objects are drawn and their distant level of detail. Lowering it can make distant geometry less clear.
- Foliage: controls vegetation density. Lower values can reduce visual clutter, but may change the appearance of levels.
- Post-Processing: covers effects including Motion Blur, Bloom, and Lens Flare. Lowering it can reduce distracting image effects.
- Effects: controls particles, subsurface scattering, and sky atmosphere. It is not a brightness slider, and changing it may trigger additional shader preloading.
- Shadows, Reflections, and Global Illumination Resolution: change lighting and image quality, but there is no universal setting that makes every scene brighter without visual trade-offs.
The settings reference does not document a separate Volumetric Fog option. Treat guides claiming that this exact control is available as unverified.

Under Graphics > Display, ARC Raiders provides Window Mode, Display Resolution, frame-generation options for AMD FSR 3 or NVIDIA DLSS, VSync, NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency, and Frame Rate Limit.
The listed window modes are Borderless Fullscreen, Windowed, and Exclusive Fullscreen. Display Resolution is locked when Window Mode is set to Borderless Fullscreen. If you need to change resolution, switch to Windowed or Exclusive Fullscreen first.
Under Graphics > Resolution Scaling & Anti-Aliasing, the relevant controls include Upscaled Resolution, Resolution Scaling Method, NVIDIA DLSS Quality, NVIDIA DLSS Model, AMD FSR 3 Quality, Intel XeSS Quality, and Render Resolution. Aggressive upscaling can make dark details and distant silhouettes harder to distinguish because the image contains less fine detail. If visibility is the priority, use the clearest resolution-scaling option your hardware can run comfortably rather than assuming the lowest render resolution is best.
How to brighten ARC Raiders on PC
Because the game does not expose an in-game brightness or gamma path, PC players generally adjust the display outside ARC Raiders:

- Alternatively, open your monitor’s on-screen display and look for controls named Black Equalizer, Black Level, Shadow Detail, or Gamma.
- Make small changes and check both dark interiors and bright outdoor scenes. Excessive black-level lifting can wash out the image and reduce contrast.
- Reset the profile after playing if the adjustment was not saved to an ARC Raiders-specific display profile.
These are external display changes, not ARC Raiders settings. Depending on your GPU and monitor software, they may remain active on the Windows desktop and in other games.
Hardware can also be the limiting factor. OLED black-level behavior, VA-panel viewing angles and room lighting, and streaming compression or tone-mapping can all make dark scenes less readable. If ARC Raiders looks fine on one display but not another, check the display’s picture mode, black level, gamma, and HDR behavior before changing many game settings.
Console visibility settings
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S do not have a verified ARC Raiders brightness, gamma, HDR, or display-calibration control in the current indexed settings list. Console players must use the television or monitor’s own picture controls, whose names and ranges vary by manufacturer.

Useful controls may include a brighter picture preset, black level, gamma, or brightness. Adjust them conservatively: raising brightness can reveal shadow detail, but too much can flatten contrast and make the whole image look gray. If your television has separate HDR picture modes, use the mode that preserves shadow detail without clipping bright areas.
Flashlights and glow sticks: useful, but not free visibility
The default flashlight controls are:
- Xbox: D-pad Right
- PlayStation: D-pad Right
- PC: F
A flashlight creates a narrow beam and may not illuminate distant corners effectively. It can also reveal your position to other players, so it is a tactical tool rather than a replacement for brighter display calibration.
Glow sticks provide area lighting and can mark locations, but they take time to deploy and may not reveal an opponent hiding in a dark corner. Use them for navigation and marking while assuming that concealed players may remain difficult to see.

ARC Raiders supports Deuteranopia, Tritanopia, and Protanopia colorblind modes. The exact setting is named Colorblind Mode, with Default as the default option. Choose the mode that best separates the colors you struggle to distinguish; it changes color interpretation rather than globally increasing brightness.
The settings also include Invert Flash Colour, which changes the blinded effect from white to black. This may be more comfortable or readable depending on your sensitivity to bright flashes.

For audio-visual support, subtitles are found at Settings > Audio > Show Subtitles, with options for Text Size and Background Opacity.
What not to use: outdated brightness exploits
There is no current player-facing brightness command syntax to recommend. The previously abused NewConsole command exposed developer tools that could reduce or disable fog, smoke, dust, particles, and darkness. It was removed in an emergency hotfix because it created visibility advantages unavailable to console players.
Claims that a Steam launch parameter can currently enable the developer console, or that NVIDIA Game Filters provide a verified supported ARC Raiders brightness method, are outdated or unverified according to the retrieved hotfix reporting. Do not rely on them for a current setup.
A practical setup checklist
- Set Motion Blur to Off and reduce Motion Blur Intensity if movement looks smeared.
- Leave Field of View at 70 initially, then adjust between 60 and 80 based on whether you need larger distant targets or greater peripheral awareness.
- Keep View Distance high enough to preserve distant detail on your hardware.
- Reduce distracting Post-Processing effects if bloom, lens flare, or blur interferes with recognition.
- Use a clear resolution-scaling mode and avoid unnecessarily low render resolution.
- Adjust GPU display controls on PC, or TV/monitor picture controls on console.
- Check whether external display changes remain active in other games.
- Use the flashlight and glow sticks tactically rather than expecting them to remove darkness across an area.
- Ignore current-looking guides that promise a Brightness slider, Volumetric Fog toggle, or working NewConsole command unless a newer official update confirms those features.
Bottom line
ARC Raiders currently has no verified in-game brightness, gamma, HDR, or display-calibration slider on PC or console. The most reliable improvements are disabling motion blur, tuning Field of View and image-quality settings, and calibrating your GPU or display externally. Keep in mind that external changes affect more than ARC Raiders unless you use a dedicated profile, and avoid removed developer-console exploits or unsupported filter claims.
