Embark says accounts caught cheating in ARC Raiders are permanently banned, with no warnings or second chances. But “incinerated” is a metaphor, not a new in-game punishment: the policy was explained in a September 30, 2026 post, while the October 8 Frozen Trail 2.0 update notes do not announce a new anti-cheat feature. Embark’s anti-cheat statement and the Frozen Trail notes describe separate announcements.
What happens if you cheat in ARC Raiders now?
Embark’s stated policy is permanent account bans for known cheat programs and for any account caught cheating. Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal put it plainly: “No warnings, no second chances.”
The studio also describes additional measures intended to make it harder for banned players to return:
- License restrictions: Embark says it broadened restrictions on the game license associated with cheating.
- Linked-account action: Accounts linked to a banned copy may also be permanently banned.
- Hardware bans: Embark may ban a device when it has enough evidence tying that machine to cheating. The studio said broader hardware-ban coverage was still work it hoped to implement later in 2026, not a completed expansion.
These are sanctions Embark says it uses or is developing; the studio has not published an overall ban count or evidence that cheating has stopped.

Why aren’t cheaters banned immediately?
Embark says it combines Denuvo kernel-level protection, detections from Anybrain, and an expanding set of in-house machine-learning and other data models. It says the systems help identify suspicious behavior and build confidence before enforcement. A suspicious clip may not prompt an immediate ban because staff review behavior across multiple instances to reduce the chance of penalizing a legitimate player. The studio also says it reviews public videos and streams when they clearly show policy violations.
Embark says a human remains involved in the appeals process. As Grøndal explained, “Anti-cheat systems don’t function completely autonomously, and there is always a human in the loop through the appeals process to ensure we are deploying sanctions fairly.” The statement describes the studio’s approach; it does not provide independently audited detection accuracy or a promised time from detection to ban.

What do the queue-teaming figures mean?
Queue teaming is distinct from using cheats. Embark uses the term for players who coordinate before a match to enter the same solo lobby and attack players who queued alone. The studio says it began separating known groups in matchmaking. Five days later, it reported 85% fewer players engaging in queue teaming and a drop in “spoiled raids” from around 1 in 50 to around 1 in 300, with no meaningful effect on queue times.
Those are Embark’s reported results for this matchmaking intervention—not an independently audited measure of all cheating, the share of cheaters banned, or the overall rate of spoiled raids. Embark says teaming up with someone encountered through proximity chat during a raid remains allowed.

Did Frozen Trail add a new anti-cheat system?
No new anti-cheat policy or literal “incineration” mechanic appears in Embark’s October 8, 2026 Frozen Trail 2.0 notes. The enforcement statement came separately on September 30. Frozen Trail is described as the game’s biggest update since launch, with Pendola Pass, new map conditions, Bully, Skulker, and Hydra enemies, Bantam and Stiletto weapons, amplified weapons, a revamped skill tree, an Outpost, a Reward Pass system, weapon stencils, and 22 new quests, alongside gameplay, performance, and bug fixes.
The official patch notes do not say that this update introduced the permanent-ban policy. The same-day launch announcement said the game would be free to play from October 8–12, 2026, and advertised a 50% discount on platforms; those dated offers may no longer be available.
