Which damage type should you use?
There is no established universal best build for this encounter. Treat damage type as a flexible expedition choice: use madness if it is available to your build, or consider fire or holy damage. These are guide recommendations, not guaranteed drops or mandatory weapon choices. Madness is especially useful as a tactical option because the community reference reports that inflicting it interrupts Libra’s spell casting; how practical that is depends on your build and the fight’s current state.
How should you handle the Condemned?
Summoned Condemned create a competing threat: ignoring them can leave the team under pressure, but turning entirely away from Libra gives the boss more room to act. The community reference recommends area attacks that can hit both Libra and the Condemned. Poison or rot may also keep damage ticking on the boss while you shift attention to the adds, if your expedition has access to those effects.

Why not use standard Libra advice as a complete strategy?
The standard Libra, Creature of Night encounter has its own mechanics, including a merchant bargain and madness-related behavior. Those details are not a complete strategy for Everdark Libra: the Everdark encounter adds modifiers and a phase change.
