Players reported encountering raiders with large stacks of Familiar Ducks in ARC Raiders in January 2026, including one post claiming a haul worth 2.8 million Raider Coins. Those accounts drew attention to a possible duplication exploit, but they were player reports—not proof that every large inventory came from cheating or that the specific glitch still works. Embark later confirmed that recent exploits had affected the game economy and outlined enforcement measures.
What players reported seeing
In a January 30, 2026 report, PC Gamer described screenshots circulating on ARC Raiders social media that showed raiders and inventories with piles of Familiar Ducks, an in-game item. One Reddit post quoted in the report described finding a raider in Buried City Metro and said: “I extracted with 2.8 million. Still confused.” The report also quoted another player who said they had found two dead raiders with full stacks of ducks. A separate video showed a player with 17 Tempest blueprints.
The article said a Familiar Duck was worth 5,000 Raider Coins and stacked to 15. It used those values to illustrate a hypothetical haul for a player with 14 free inventory slots; that calculation was an example, not an average or independently verified payout. The posts and video were evidence of what players said they encountered, not a measure of how widespread the behavior was or proof that every item shown had been duplicated.
What Embark said about exploits and enforcement
On February 17, 2026, the ARC Raiders team said its investigation into recent exploits had concluded. Embark acknowledged that the exploits arose from a design flaw and said their use had affected both the in-game economy and the community’s experience. The team said it validated reports against game data, distinguished accidental or edge-case behavior from repeated intentional abuse, and considered economic and competitive impact when deciding what action to take.

Embark described a tiered approach based on severity, intent, frequency, and impact: limited, low-severity use could receive a warning; Coins tied to exploit activity could be removed; and severe cases could result in suspensions. The statement did not identify the Familiar Duck reports as a specific confirmed case, nor did it authenticate each inventory shown in the January posts.
What later updates do—and don’t—establish
In a July 7, 2026 report, PC Gamer relayed Embark’s statement that it monitored the game economy and worked to counter duplication exploits. It reported that the share of players with “unusually high ‘profit per minute’” had fallen below 1% at that time. That was a dated indicator of unusual profit patterns, not a count of players who duplicated Familiar Ducks and not a current October 2026 prevalence figure.

On September 30, 2026, executive producer Aleksander Grøndal published an official anti-cheat update saying Embark had improved detection and sanctions for accounts involved in economy exploits. The update discusses permanent bans as policy for accounts caught using cheats and says suspected behavior is assessed across multiple instances to reduce false positives. It does not say whether the particular January Familiar Duck glitch remains possible. A general anti-cheat update is not confirmation that this specific exploit is active—or fixed.

How to read the hoard reports
- They concerned virtual inventory. Familiar Ducks and Tempest blueprints are in-game items, not physical collectibles.
- The striking examples were player accounts. The 2.8 million Coin haul and large stacks were reported in posts or video; they do not establish how common hoarding or duplication was.
- Embark later confirmed exploit-related harm in general. Its February statement described effects on the economy and community, plus enforcement based on the circumstances of each case.
- The specific glitch’s present status is unconfirmed in the cited updates. The September statement outlines broader anti-cheat policy without resolving whether the January method remains possible.
