Signup opened February 25, and the event is over—not an upcoming window. It required players to build qualifying stash value before departure, then reset much of their Raider’s progression in exchange for permanent bonuses and, for consecutive departures, temporary buffs.
When did Expedition 2 start?
Embark opened signup on February 25, 2026, and all signed-up players departed on March 1. The dates and event details were set out in Embark’s Expedition 2 announcement. Signup is no longer available.

Expedition was optional: it offered players a chance to reset progression for benefits, rather than imposing a global wipe. The official Expedition help-center overview says the Expedition Project unlocks at level 20. Preparation and finalization windows are part of the general system, but the specific March 1 departure date—not a general cycle description—governed Expedition 2.
How much stash value did Expedition 2 require?
Players needed 3 million Coins of stash value to earn all five skill points available from Expedition 2, at 600,000 per point. Embark lowered the target after player feedback. Players who had missed skill points in the first Expedition could then use the catch-up rate of 300,000 stash value per missed point. Expedition 2’s own five points counted first.

Embark cautioned that requirements and rewards could change in later Expeditions, and that bonus skill points would not be available indefinitely. These figures apply to Expedition 2, not later events.
What reset when you left?
Departing meant starting with a new Raider and giving up substantial character progression. Embark’s Expedition 2 announcement and help-center overview describe the reset and carry-over categories as follows:

The new Raider skipped the initial onboarding; maps and potential workshop upgrades were available after the reset. The detailed Expedition 2 announcement specifically says the Trophy Display Project, cosmetics, Raider Deck progress, unlocked map regions, leaderboard position, Trials, Codex entries, and Raider Tokens were unaffected. The help-center overview also lists purchased items and Cred among carry-over categories.
What rewards did Expedition 2 give?
Embark listed these permanent Expedition 2 rewards: an evolved Patchwork outfit, Scrappy cosmetics, an upgraded Expedition Indicator, increased stash space from 12 to 24, and up to five new skill points. With catch-up, eligible players taking their second Expedition could reach 85 total skill points.

Consecutive departures also increased temporary buffs, up to a 10% XP boost, a 12% Scrappy materials boost, and a 70% repair-value increase. Those buffs depended on leaving on consecutive Expeditions: skipping the next one reset them. Permanent bonuses already earned remained, even if a player chose not to depart again.
How did later Expeditions differ?
Expedition 2’s challenge and reward structure should not be confused with later windows. Embark changed the system in subsequent events: the third Expedition used damage dealt during its window for new skill-point earning; the fourth offered blueprints and Raider Tokens in place of skill points for its challenge; and the fifth featured an in-window challenge, the complete Zenith Outfit, mystery rewards, additional stash space up to 60, and catch-up for eligible players. These later rewards were not part of Expedition 2.

Is another Expedition scheduled?
The fifth Expedition opened September 8 and closed September 29, 2026. Embark said on August 21 that it would be the last until early 2027 while the studio worked on major improvements. That was an announced plan, not a precise return date; the announcement gave no exact date for the next window. Check Embark’s latest Expedition announcement for any schedule updates.
