ARC Raiders’ Flashpoint update went live on March 31, 2026, adding the Close Scrutiny ARC Operation, a new flying threat called the Vaporizer, two weapons, and several progression and quality-of-life changes. Embark announced the update on March 30; the details below reflect its announcement and patch notes, not independent hands-on testing.
What is the Close Scrutiny ARC Operation?
Close Scrutiny is a major map condition built around the Assessor, a large machine that makes a controlled landing and appears non-aggressive. The immediate threat comes from the ARC patrols accompanying it, according to Embark’s Flashpoint announcement.
There is less loot elsewhere on the map during the operation, making the Assessor a risk-and-reward point of interest. Embark’s announcement does not specify additional encounter mechanics or guaranteed rewards.
What is the Vaporizer?
The Vaporizer is a new flying ARC type that stalks areas around the operation. Embark says it attacks with lasers and uses unusual attack patterns. The announcement does not provide health, damage, spawn-rate, or recommended-counter details.

The Dolabra is an energy shotgun with two firing options: a wide burst or a focused electrical funnel. Embark describes it as a new way to penetrate ARC armor at close range and says the Close Scrutiny operation is the best chance to find its blueprint.

What changed in patch 1.22.0?
The March 31 patch notes group changes across matchmaking, crafting, console settings, audio, performance, and bug fixes. These are developer-described changes; the notes do not establish a guaranteed result for every player.
Matchmaking and crafting
- Custom-loadout players are more likely to join fresh servers. Embark says the change is not guaranteed and may affect matchmaking times. The patch notes describe the intent this way: “As part of an ongoing look at free loadout usage and how it impacts the game, we’re going to bias the matchmaking to put players with custom loadouts into fresh servers.”
- Locked-room value is increased and scaled by key rarity.
- From the crafting view, players can find, recycle, refine, or purchase missing materials.
Console HUD settings
Console players can now change HUD visibility options.

Audio and performance work
Embark’s patch notes for version 1.22.0 list improved positional audio, reduced weapon-audio latency on Windows systems with at least 16 GB of RAM, texture-streaming changes, and CPU optimization. The notes do not quantify the impact, so they should not be read as a promise of a particular frame-rate or latency improvement on an individual system.

Embark’s official game page lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and GeForce NOW. That platform list does not provide a feature-by-feature comparison. Because Flashpoint launched in March 2026, later patches may have changed the update’s mechanics or availability in the live game.
