The Old Fort locations below come from a guide and are not confirmed against current official map material; ARC Powercells are separate loot items used for shields, crafting, and progression.
Where to find the three fuel cells at Old Fort
All Things How’s Old Fort guide, updated October 31, 2025, reports three scattered cells around the Blue Gate ruins. It suggests sweeping the perimeter before climbing, which can limit backtracking. Treat these as reported locations rather than guaranteed current placements: the guide has not been corroborated here against official map material or current first-party footage.
- Check the north road. The guide reports a cell near the road on the fort’s northern side.
- Sweep the southern side. Look near a lever for the second reported cell.
- Climb to the highest accessible point. The third is reported at or near the top of the fort.
The guide also recommends minimizing time in exposed angles and using stealth because other players may contest the placements. Those are tactical recommendations, not guarantees of a safe route or uncontested pickups.
What an ARC Powercell is—and what it does
An ARC Powercell is an in-game item, not a real-world fuel cell. The community-run ARC Raiders Wiki classifies it as a common Topside Material scavenged from destroyed ARC machines. Its reproduced item description says it drops from all ARC enemies, but the sources do not establish reliable drop rates for particular enemy types.

- ARC Raiders Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the following content: The Wanderer Set, including the following cosmetic items: “Valente” Outfit" “Pathfinder” Backpack,“Blanket Roll” Backpack Attachment.
- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.
Used directly, a Powercell restores shield charge: the wiki lists a rate of 2 charge per second for 10 seconds, a 3-second use time, and 20 charge restored in total. These are game mechanics and may change with patches. The page also lists a weight of 0.5 and a stack size of five.
Keep, use, or recycle your Powercells
| Item | Rarity and availability | Direct utility | Recycling or progression |
|---|---|---|---|
| ARC Powercell | Common; scavenged from destroyed ARC machines, according to the community wiki. | Restores shield charge; also used in crafting. | One Powercell and five Rubber Parts make one Shield Recharger. Five Powercells are required for Refiner level 1, alongside 60 Metal Parts. |
| Advanced ARC Powercell | Rarer than the standard version, according to the wiki. | No direct shield-recharge use is established in the cited item reference. | Recycling one Advanced ARC Powercell yields two standard ARC Powercells, according to the wiki. |
| Old Fort “fuel cell” pickup | A location objective reported around Blue Gate’s Old Fort; it is not an item variant. | Collected as part of the three-cell activity described by the guide. | No crafting or recycling role is established for these pickups. |
The Shield Recharger recipe is listed for Workbench 1 or Medical Lab 1, and the wiki also lists in-round crafting when the required skill is available. The recipe is independently listed by ARC Raiders Hub. To build Refiner level 1, PC Gamer’s Refiner materials guide lists five ARC Powercells; the wiki lists the additional 60 Metal Parts.

If you need standard Powercells, the wiki says Advanced ARC Powercells can be recycled into two. It does not provide dependable enemy-by-enemy drop odds, so do not count on a specific ARC type to supply a set number. For sale value, the wiki’s patch history records a version 1.3.0 change from 640 to 270, while ARC Raiders Hub still displays 640; because those references conflict, a current sale price is not reliable enough to use as a planning figure.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Do not confuse Old Fort pickups with the A Prime Specimen quest
The three Old Fort cells are a location activity, not the ARC Powercells used in other parts of the game. PC Gamer’s A Prime Specimen walkthrough, published January 27, 2026, says that quest begins by obtaining two ARC Powercells from your stockpile or ARC machines, then taking them to an Arc Deforester in Blue Gate, where the described interactions consume them. Quest steps can change with patches.
