Use the Stella Montis Security Checkpoint Key on the locked Security Checkpoint door inside the Lobby complex, near the Security Bridge. From the main Lobby, pass through the central security gates, turn right behind the reception desk, follow the corridor, then take the first door on the right. The key is consumed when the correct door opens, so store it in your Safe Pocket until you are ready to use it.

Where to use the Security Checkpoint Key

The key opens a specific door in the Security Checkpoint area of Stella Montis. The room is in the upper-floor/lobby complex near the Security Bridge POI. It is not interchangeable with the keys for Medical Storage, Archives, Assembly Admin, or other locked areas.

The key is a Rare, non-stackable item weighing 0.25 kg and selling for 100 coins. It was added in Update 1.2.0. See the item listing and Update 1.2.0 reference for its current item details.

Exact route from the Lobby

  1. Open the in-raid map and locate the Lobby section.
  2. Start in the main Lobby on the lowest tier, facing the two central security gates.
  3. Go through the main security gates.
  4. Immediately turn right into the small room behind the security reception desk.
  5. Continue straight through that room and into the narrow corridor.
  6. At the end of the corridor, turn left.
  7. Take the next right.
  8. The first door on the right is the Security Checkpoint room.
  9. Inside, interact with the designated locked door while the key is in your inventory.

The route is easy to miss because it runs behind the reception area rather than through the most obvious part of the Lobby. A current guide with the same route is available from All Things How.

How to identify the correct door

Look for the locked door inside the Security Checkpoint room. One current guide describes red indicator lights on the locked door, which can help distinguish it from nearby entrances. If the door is in another Stella Montis facility, the Security Checkpoint Key will not work.

The available guides confirm interaction with the locked door, but do not establish a universal keyboard, mouse, controller, or on-screen button label. Use the interaction prompt shown by your platform rather than relying on a specific control name.

What happens to the key

Opening the matching Security Checkpoint door consumes the key. It is a single-use item. The ordinary breach doors you may encounter on the approach do not consume this key; only the designated Security Checkpoint door does.

Because the key cannot be stacked and can be lost on death if carried outside the Safe Pocket, place it in a Safe Pocket before attempting the run. That protects it if you are eliminated before reaching the door.

Where to find the key

There is no confirmed fixed spawn location for the Stella Montis Security Checkpoint Key. Reported sources include random scavenging loot such as residential interiors, desks, drawers, lockers, bags, crates, and other containers. The key can also be taken from another player’s carried loot.

You do not have to find it on Stella Montis. Reported drops can occur elsewhere in the broader ARC Raiders environment, so search generally rather than repeatedly checking one supposed guaranteed location. Destructoid and Level Up Gamer both note the lack of a definite spawn point.

What is inside the room?

The unlocked room contains multiple searchable containers, including drawers, cabinets, bags, and other loot sources. Reported contents include crafting materials, components, consumables, utility items, and occasional weapons or Epic items. The contents are RNG-based, and no fixed reward table has been verified.

Expect danger around the Lobby and Security Bridge area. Guides report ARC threats, including Shredders, as well as player traffic. After opening the room, closing the door is reported to help prevent a Shredder from following you inside.

Common mistakes

  • Searching for a guaranteed spawn: The key has no confirmed specific spawn point.
  • Assuming it must come from Stella Montis: Reported key drops can occur on other maps.
  • Using a breach charge on the key door: A breach charge may apply to an intermediate door, but it does not replace the key for the designated Security Checkpoint door.
  • Trying the wrong locked room: Stella Montis has several key-specific doors, and this key only works at Security Checkpoint.
  • Carrying it unprotected: Keep it in the Safe Pocket until the run in which you intend to use it.
  • Following the obvious Lobby path: The correct route goes behind the reception desk and through the narrow corridor.

Is a Night Raid better for this key?

One third-party guide claims that Night Raids improve locked-room loot and key-drop rates. No official patch note or developer source in the available evidence confirms those mechanics, so treat the claim as unverified rather than a guaranteed strategy.
