In January 2026’s Update 1.11.0, the studio lowered the weapon’s listed fire rate from 600 to 450. That is a historical patch-note change, not confirmation of the Kettle’s live stats today. Embark’s later anti-cheat statement explains its broader enforcement approach, but does not publish a Kettle-specific macro detection rule.
What Embark said about Kettle macros
The controversy is based on an official balance note, not just community speculation. In the January 2026 Update 1.11.0 note, Embark wrote: “The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software.” The studio’s stated concern was that the old rate rewarded using external software to achieve a firing pace it considered unrealistic for ordinary play.
That statement establishes that Embark considered macros capable of reaching the previous rate and viewed the resulting advantage as unfair. It does not establish how common macro use was, identify individual users, or settle every possible case involving input devices or accessibility tools.
What changed in Update 1.11.0
Embark’s January 2026 patch note listed the Kettle’s fire rate changing from 600 to 450. These figures describe the change in that note; they should not be treated as verified October 2026 live values, because the note alone does not establish whether later updates changed the weapon again.

The practical point is the balance response: Embark lowered the listed rate after deciding that the former one could be reached realistically through macros, creating an incentive to use third-party software. The note does not give a separate numeric threshold for permitted clicking speed or explain how every input method is evaluated.
How Embark describes anti-cheat enforcement
In its September 30, 2026 anti-cheat update, Embark described a layered system involving Denuvo kernel-level protection, Anybrain detections, and an expanding set of in-house models using machine learning and other data. The studio said these systems work together to identify suspicious behavior and build confidence before action. Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal wrote: “Cheating undermines what makes ARC Raiders challenging and fun, and disrupts the experience for everyone playing fairly.”

Suspicion is not the same as a ban
Embark said it does not ban as soon as something merely looks suspicious: “Anti-cheat systems can’t ban a player the moment something looks suspicious. Doing so would create the risk of incorrectly banning legitimate players.” Its statement says behavior may be analyzed over multiple instances, and that a human role remains through the appeals process. The team also said it reviews clear videos and streams and can act on evidence.
Sanctions and what is not public
Embark said permanent bans are standard for known cheat programs and that accounts caught using cheats are permanently banned. Its public statement does not specify a Kettle macro detection threshold, detail the underlying detection rules, or say that a particular clip or named player demonstrates macro use. A fast-looking firing sequence or an accusation alone is not proof of a violation.

What the enforcement statistics do—and do not—mean
Embark’s September 30 statement reported 85% fewer players engaging in queue teaming after five days, and said spoiled raids fell from around 1 in 50 to 1 in 300. Both figures concern action against known queue-teaming groups. They are not measurements of Kettle macros, macro prevalence, or the effect of the Kettle balance change.
Earlier, in June 2026’s Live Update 1.33.0, Embark said it was expanding Denuvo Anti-Cheat to more players and described action notices and automatic loot compensation when it identifies a cheater who knocked out a player. That update is context for the broader anti-cheat program, not a Kettle-specific macro policy.

- Embark explicitly connected the Kettle’s former fire rate with macro use and called the resulting dynamic unfair.
