Search Mechanical loot areas
Mechanical is listed as a find area for the component. The available item listing does not specify particular containers, map locations, or spawn rates, so treat it as a loot-category lead rather than a guaranteed location.
Defeat ARC enemies
Bastion, Bombardier, and Leaper are listed as sources. A second community wiki also names Shredder. Enemy loot can change between builds, so check the current game rather than relying on any one list as a guarantee.

Recycle eligible items at Speranza
Many items can be recycled into Mechanical Components, including weapons, attachments, and other components. The yield varies by donor item; check its current recycling result before giving it up, particularly if you need it for another recipe or upgrade.
Complete quests
Industrial Espionage and Water Troubles are listed as quests that can reward Mechanical Components. Another wiki also names A Wrench in the Works, but quest reward lists differ. Confirm the reward on the in-game quest screen.
Check Scrappy’s gathering
A November 18, 2025 PC Gamer guide includes Scrappy as a way to obtain components. That guide predates the current date, and the available sources do not confirm this route for the October 2026 game build; verify it in-game.
Recycle or salvage a Mechanical Component

- Compare that yield with the item’s other crafting, upgrade, or equipment uses before sacrificing it.
