No published evidence reviewed supports the claim that ARC Raiders secretly kills players in-game for duplicating items. Embark’s public statements describe account and economy penalties instead, including warnings, removal of exploit-linked Coins, suspensions, and—in separate anti-cheat contexts—bans. The studio has not said that it secretly kills player characters as an enforcement method.
What Embark has publicly described
Embark’s statements describe two related but distinct enforcement contexts: a response to a specific exploit investigation in February 2026, and a broader anti-cheat update in September 2026. Neither describes developers secretly causing Raiders to die in the game world.
| Statement | Scope | Described measures |
|---|---|---|
| February 17, 2026 exploit investigation response | A completed investigation into particular exploits that Embark said affected the in-game economy and player experience. | Warnings in limited, low-severity cases; removal of Coins tied to exploit activity; suspensions for severe cases with significant impact. |
| February 26, 2026 enforcement policy | Published policy covering exploitation of bugs or glitches for unfair advantage. | Temporary or permanent access suspension; hardware bans may apply in sufficiently serious cases. The policy also identifies a support route for appeals. |
| September 30, 2026 anti-cheat update | The broader anti-cheat approach, including cheat programs and improved identification of accounts involved in economy exploits. | Permanent bans are described as standard for accounts caught using known cheat programs; the statement also names license restrictions, linked-account bans, and hardware bans. |
These measures should not be conflated. The February post addresses a specific investigated exploit incident; the later post describes the broader anti-cheat system. Embark does not say that every duplication incident receives the same penalty, or that its general permanent-ban rule for known cheat programs automatically applies to every exploit case.
Why exploit enforcement may not happen immediately
Embark says it validates reports, determines an exploit’s scope and impact, and distinguishes accidental or edge-case behavior from repeated intentional abuse. In the September anti-cheat update, executive producer Aleksander Grøndal said: “Anti-cheat systems can’t ban a player the moment something looks suspicious.” He explained that the system analyzes behavior across multiple instances and keeps human review involved, including through appeals, to reduce the risk of punishing legitimate players by mistake.

- ARC Raiders Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the following content: The Wanderer Set, including the following cosmetic items: “Valente” Outfit" “Pathfinder” Backpack,“Blanket Roll” Backpack Attachment.
- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.
That explanation describes the studio’s stated approach; it does not establish that every enforcement decision is correct. Nor does a delay by itself establish that a player is being secretly killed or is avoiding consequences.
Do the anti-cheat figures refer to duplication exploits?
No. Embark’s September 2026 figures concern queue teaming after matchmaking changes, not item duplication or player deaths. The studio reported 85% fewer players engaging in queue teaming after five days, and said spoiled raids fell from around 1 in 50 to 1 in 300. Those developer-reported results should not be presented as evidence about duplication enforcement.

What a clip of a Raider dying can—and cannot—show
A video may show that a character died, but the footage alone does not establish why it happened or demonstrate a hidden developer sanction. To support the specific allegation, evidence would need to connect an in-game death to a deliberate enforcement action rather than ordinary gameplay or another cause. Embark’s published material reviewed here does not make that connection.
The public statements establish what Embark has chosen to describe; they cannot prove that no undisclosed internal action exists. No player-level sanction records or independent forensic verification are available in the cited material. The careful conclusion is therefore that secret in-game killing for duplication exploits is an unsubstantiated allegation, not a documented ARC Raiders penalty.
