Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo complete On Deaf Ears, find four records on Stella Montis—in the Lobby, Auditorium, Medical Research and Assembly Workshops—then leave the map and report back to Lance. The quest follows the same order as its objectives; use the in-game markers if a doorway or connector differs from the route described below.
Quest overview and rewards
Lance gives you On Deaf Ears after you complete Groundbreaking. He asks you to retrace the visit of an auditory researcher who came to Stella Montis during the Exodus. In Lance’s in-game dialogue: “An auditory researcher is said to have visited Stella Montis during the Exodus. See if you can retrace her steps.”

-
Reception guest logs — Lobby
Go to the northeast area of the main floor in the Lobby. At the front desk outside the Security room, interact with the marked computer to collect the guest logs.
-
Lecture notes — Auditorium
Head to the Auditorium, southeast of the Lobby, and use the computer on the lecturer’s desk. Guides describe different connectors into this room: one route goes through Security’s upper floors and a restricted door toward the Business Centre, while another describes taking the Lobby stairs and passing a checkpoint. Since the route wording differs, follow the objective marker rather than relying on a single doorway being open or accessible. PC Gamer’s walkthrough and GameSpot’s guide both place the objective in the Auditorium.
-
Prototype information — Medical Research
In Medical Research, reach the second floor and look in the northeastern corner of the main lab, near the Loading Bay and Assembly entrance. Interact with the large computer.

Plan your route and manage raid risk
The first two objectives are in the Lobby and Auditorium area; Medical Research and Assembly Workshops are farther along the route. The connector instructions into the Auditorium are not identical across guides, so treat room names and objective markers as the dependable navigation cues.
- One raid: You can try to collect all four records in sequence, but this means carrying the risk of a longer run across the map.
- Split across raids: All Things How reports that objective progress persists between raids, so you can extract after completing a step and continue later. Because this detail is reported by one guide and game behavior can change, verify it in your current quest tracker if losing progress would matter. All Things How’s guide
- Choose gear for your risk tolerance: GameSpot suggests using a free kit to limit the cost of a failed run; this is optional advice, not a quest requirement. PC Gamer suggests bringing a Raider Hatch key for the final objective beside a hatch. The key is an optional in-game item, not a real-world purchase.
What the records reveal
The guest logs lead Lance to the researcher’s lecture, titled “The Relative Firmness of Earwax in Zero Gravity Conditions.” Her notes identify a hearing-aid prototype called Project Echostride in Medical Research, and the shipping logs show that a limited batch was being prepared. Once you report back with the records, Lance says the coordinates point to Acerra Spaceport, setting up the follow-on quest On The Map. These details come from the game’s quest dialogue and story, not an external account.
