To open the Raider’s Refuge cellar in ARC Raiders, find and interact with four active yellow-and-red power buttons around the ruined church on Blue Gate. The buttons can be pressed in any order. After the fourth valid button is activated, the cellar hatch on the church’s eastern exterior wall opens automatically.
Although some guides call this area a vault, the location is generally described as the Raider’s Refuge cellar, cellar hatch, or basement.
Where to find Raider’s Refuge
Raider’s Refuge is a named point of interest on the Blue Gate map. Look for the ruined stone church. The locked cellar hatch is attached to the church’s eastern exterior wall; four indicator bulbs above the hatch show your progress.
How the button puzzle works
- Search the church, its roof and loft, and the nearby ruined buildings for glowing yellow controls with large red actuators.
- Interact with four active buttons.
- Watch the indicator bulbs above the cellar hatch. Each successful button lights one bulb.
- Once all four bulbs are lit, the hatch opens automatically and reveals a ladder into the basement.
There are reportedly 23 possible button locations, but only four are selected for a given raid. You do not need to search all 23 if you spot the four active buttons. The buttons also have no documented required sequence, so activate them in whatever order is safest.

Potential Raider’s Refuge button locations
The exact four locations vary between raids. Use the following as a search route rather than assuming every spot will contain an active button.
Outside the church
- Directly in front of the cellar door. This button can be knocked over or partly hidden, so check the ground carefully rather than relying on a distant view.
- Along the church’s eastern and western exterior walls.
- Beside exterior doorways, girders, generators, control boxes, and ventilation equipment.
- Near sheet metal, bushes, benches, fences, and other cover around the church.
Inside the church
- Behind computer monitors.
- Behind furniture and other interior obstructions.
- Along walls and around equipment where the yellow casing can blend into the ruined structure.
Loft and attic
- Under or beside loose floorboards.
- Behind the bed.
- Behind drawers.
- On exposed brickwork and other hard-to-see sections of the loft.
Some attic spots require climbing or using the available ladder. Check corners and spaces behind objects instead of scanning only at eye level.

Roof, tower, and upper platforms
- On the roof and around the tower.
- On tower ledges and elevated platforms.
- Near the satellite-dish platforms.
Depending on the route, reaching these positions may require climbing boxes, using a ladder or zipline, or dropping down from the roof.
Nearby ruined buildings
- Through gaps in floorboards.
- Inside or beside a wire-fenced area.
- In a small cellar.
- In the building northwest of the church, including areas near drawers.
If the church itself does not yield four buttons, expand the search to these nearby ruins and their lower levels.

What to do if a button is hard to see
Search slowly and look for the button’s distinctive glowing yellow body and large red actuator. Several spawns are concealed behind furniture, panels, bushes, beams, or floorboards. The button near the cellar is particularly easy to miss because it may be lying at an angle or partly obscured.
When you find a suspected location, move close enough to inspect the object and try the normal interaction prompt shown by your game. The available documentation confirms that the physical button must be interacted with, but does not establish a universal current prompt name or keyboard/controller binding.

Is there a button sequence or timer?
No specific sequence is required. Any four active buttons will complete the puzzle, and current guides report no documented timer or penalty for activating valid buttons in an arbitrary order.
A pressed button becomes inactive for the rest of that session. If another squad has already activated the puzzle and looted the cellar, you cannot reset it during the same raid; you must find the location again in a new raid for a fresh loot roll.

What is inside the cellar?
Reported cellar loot includes several useful containers, such as:
- A weapon box or case.
- A Security Breach locker.
- A rare component pouch.
- Grenade and materials storage.
- A mechanical loot cabinet.
- A fridge.
- A wardrobe cabinet.
- A medicine cabinet.
Exact contents can vary by raid. The cellar is not documented as a guaranteed source of a fixed legendary or epic haul, and opening it does not require a separate keycard or security code according to the current button-puzzle guides.
Plan for other players
Pressing a button produces a loud sound, and the cellar loot is not protected from other players. Treat the final button and the opening hatch as an audio signal that may draw a competing squad.
- Check nearby sightlines before activating a button.
- Keep an escape route in mind, especially when climbing to roof or attic spawns.
- Do not assume that solving the puzzle gives you uncontested access to the loot.
- After the hatch opens, loot quickly and leave if the area becomes unsafe.
Quick checklist
- Go to the ruined church at Raider’s Refuge on Blue Gate.
- Locate the cellar hatch on the eastern exterior wall.
- Search the church, exterior, loft, roof, tower, and nearby ruins.
- Look for four active yellow buttons with red actuators.
- Press them in any order and monitor the four bulbs above the hatch.
- Enter through the automatically opened hatch, while watching for rival players.
