If a warning symbol appears along the right side of your ARC Raiders screen, don’t assume it marks a nearby enemy or loot. Community reports associate some right-side icons with connection problems, but the official warning-icon guide available from Embark is for THE FINALS—not ARC Raiders. That guide explains several network and performance warnings, so it can help you diagnose symptoms, but it does not confirm ARC Raiders’ icon designs or mappings.
What the right-side icons mean—and what is actually confirmed
The most reliable interpretation is to treat an unfamiliar pop-up as a possible connection or performance warning, then compare it with what is happening in the raid. An ARC Raiders community guide identifies overlapping yellow or red squares as packet loss, a clock as latency, a monitor with an exclamation mark as shader stutter, and a jagged graph as jitter. Those are community-reported mappings, not an official ARC Raiders legend.
Embark’s official article, In-Game Warning Icons – PC & PlayStation/Xbox, describes red flashing warning icons in the top-right corner of THE FINALS. It covers packet loss, server performance, high latency, high jitter, client performance, and shader stutter. The article was updated February 17, 2026; it does not establish that ARC Raiders uses the same symbols, thresholds, or location.
So, if you are trying to work out whether an ARC Raiders icon means an enemy is close, the available evidence does not confirm that interpretation—or provide an authoritative all-icons map. Check the exact symbol and its position in your current game build and platform rather than applying a generic shooter-HUD legend. The broad claims elsewhere that right-side icons universally indicate objectives, cooldowns, buffs, armor, loot, or squad state are not substantiated by the official documentation cited here.

How to distinguish the warning types
The table below summarizes Embark’s descriptions for THE FINALS. Use it as a symptom-based troubleshooting reference, not as proof of ARC Raiders icon meanings.
| Category in Embark’s guide | What it can feel or look like | Suggested first steps |
|---|---|---|
| Packet loss | Client/server data is dropped. Possible symptoms include rubber-banding, delayed actions, missed inputs, teleporting, or events appearing suddenly. | Try a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, restart the router or modem, and reduce heavy network use. On console, check the platform’s network status. |
| Server performance | The server is struggling. Multiple players may lag together, hit registration may be delayed, or actions may appear late despite a stable local connection. | This is generally outside the player’s control; wait briefly or reconnect to another match. |
| High latency (ping) | High round-trip time can make inputs feel delayed and visual updates arrive late. | Check the matchmaking region, close apps using bandwidth, and avoid VPNs or proxies. |
| High jitter | Latency fluctuates, producing lag spikes and uneven movement, hits, or animations even when average ping looks acceptable. | Check connection stability, restart the router, reduce Wi-Fi interference, or test Ethernet. |
| Client performance | The local machine struggles to render or process the game; symptoms can include frame drops, stutter, or input that feels laggy. | Enable the detailed performance overlay, close demanding background programs, update graphics drivers, lower graphics settings, check cooling, and try fullscreen. |
| Shader stutter | Rendering may hitch as shaders compile or load when new effects, materials, or textures appear. | Where supported, clear the shader cache using the driver’s or GPU utility’s own controls; update drivers, lower demanding visual settings, use faster storage, and restart. |
Embark’s guide gives specific frame-rate colors only for its THE FINALS client-performance icon: yellow below 45 FPS and red below 30 FPS. Those are thresholds for that one icon in that game, not a universal color key and not confirmed ARC Raiders thresholds.

Fixes to try, in a useful order
- Look for the pattern. If several players are affected at once, Embark’s description associates that with server performance. If the problem is limited to your machine’s frame rate or rendering, investigate client performance or shader stutter instead. These diagnostic patterns come from Embark’s THE FINALS guidance.
- For suspected packet loss or jitter on Wi-Fi, restart your router, reduce competing network traffic and interference, then test a wired Ethernet connection if available. A cable is a test option, not a guaranteed fix.
- For high ping, verify your matchmaking region, close bandwidth-heavy apps, and avoid VPNs or proxies.
- For local rendering problems, check the detailed in-game performance overlay, close CPU- or GPU-heavy programs, update graphics drivers, reduce graphics settings, check cooling, and try fullscreen.
- If the problem persists in ARC Raiders, use the ARC Raiders Help Center, including its matchmaking and connection troubleshooting routes.
These steps target different causes: a server-side problem is not something you can usually repair by changing graphics settings, while a local frame-rate issue is not necessarily a router problem. Start with the symptom that matches what you see; replacing hardware or adding optimization software is not an established first-line solution.

Embark’s ARC Raiders accessibility support page lists modes for deuteranopia, tritanopia, and protanopia. On PC, it directs players to the gear icon and then Accessibility; on console, it directs players through the Social menu and gear icon. The page does not say that these modes alter warning-icon shapes or define individual symbols. See Accessibility and button remapping for the documented settings.
