ARC Raiders’ second character wipe was an optional Expedition departure scheduled for March 1, 2026, so it is no longer incoming. Choosing to depart reset most character-bound progress in exchange for rewards; it was not a mandatory wipe for every player. Embark’s latest announced Expedition ran September 8–29, 2026, and the studio said the system would pause for major improvements until early 2027.
What “wipe” means in ARC Raiders
“Wipe” is community shorthand for choosing the Expedition Project and resetting most of a Raider’s character-bound progression. It is an opt-in choice: players can keep their current Raider instead. In Embark’s original explanation, ARC Raiders design director Virgil said the studio did not intend to have mandatory wipes, describing Expedition as a voluntary reset mechanism. Read Embark’s original Expedition Project announcement.
When the second Expedition happened
Embark announced that sign-up for the second Expedition would begin February 25, 2026, with departure on March 1. Those dates are historical; the second Expedition is not an upcoming event. Embark’s second-Expedition announcement also warned that requirements and rewards could change in later cycles.
What reset and what carried over
Embark’s Help Center says players unlock the Expedition Project at level 20 and choose whether to reset. On departure, the following reset:

- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.

- Crafting progress
The Help Center lists these as carrying over:
- Cosmetics and purchased items
- Raider Tokens and Cred
- Raider Deck progress
- Codex entries and unlocked maps
- Bonuses from previous Expeditions
For the second Expedition specifically, Embark also said the Trophy Display Project, unlocked map regions, leaderboard position, and Trials would not be affected. Use the announcement for that cycle’s details alongside the general Expedition reset and carryover Help Center page.
The second Expedition’s rewards and requirements
The second cycle offered rewards for departing again, but its figures should not be treated as rules for future Expeditions. For that departure, Embark announced this Coin-to-Skill-Point system:
Rank #2
- Players could earn up to five Skill Points from 3 million Coins of stash value, equivalent to 600,000 Coins per point.
- Players who had missed Skill Points on their first Expedition could earn catch-up points at 300,000 stash value per missing point.
- Coins counted toward the second Expedition’s Skill Points first, then toward missed first-Expedition points.
Embark said players departing on the second Expedition could have up to 85 total Skill Points, including catch-up points. Its announcement also listed permanent rewards such as more stash space, Skill Points, evolved Patchwork outfit options, Scrappy cosmetics, and an Expedition Indicator icon.
For consecutive departures, the announced bonuses increased from 5% to 10% XP, from 6% to 12% Scrappy materials, and from 60% to 70% repair value. These were figures for the second-Expedition announcement, not a guarantee of what a later cycle will offer.
Rank #3
What changed in the latest announced Expedition
Embark’s fifth Expedition window ran September 8–29, 2026. For that cycle, the studio introduced an option to keep quest progress, extended the departure window from two weeks to three, and removed the “last call” feature. Players still needed to sign up during the window; completing the Caravan by itself did not constitute signing up. See Embark’s fifth-Expedition announcement.
Embark said the fifth Expedition would be the last until early 2027 while the studio paused the system for major improvements, including changes to departure windows, reward structure, and accessibility for new players. Early 2027 is the announced expectation, not a confirmed date for the next window. The studio also said previously earned consecutive buffs would persist during the pause, and partially completed Caravans would be reset and replaced with Ermal Vouchers of equal value.

Should you choose an Expedition or keep your Raider?
The decision is a trade-off between a fresh start with cycle-specific rewards and preserving character-bound progress and items. Before a future departure, compare the announced rewards with what the reset will cost you, then check that cycle’s requirements and sign-up dates. The second Expedition’s Coin thresholds and reward figures are historical; Embark has said those details can change between cycles.
