Security Breach still grants access to those lockers, but the published change gives no drop-rate percentage or before-and-after loot table. Whether the skill is worth taking depends on how often your routes reach lockers, what they currently yield, and which Survival skills you would give up.
What changed in Update 1.2.0?
On November 13, 2025, the Update 1.2.0 notes reproduced by GameSpot said: “Security Lockers were over-providing valuable items and have been adjusted.” That confirms a reduction or other adjustment intended to address valuable loot, but the note does not specify the exact change.
Embark representative Ossen explained the reason in Discord, as reported by PC Gamer: “We adjusted the security lockers because they were over-providing valuable items”. Ossen also said the drop-rate change had been missed in the notes and acknowledged its effect on players who had aimed for that skill-tree specialization. The studio described the omission as a mistake.
Neither report supplies a numerical drop-rate reduction, identifies specific item tiers removed, or publishes old and new loot tables. Claims about an exact percentage or particular items being removed would go beyond the documented change.

What does Security Breach do?
Security Breach is a Survival skill that lets a Raider breach Security Lockers, according to PC Gamer’s skills guide. That guide lists a 36-point Survival investment requirement. Because skill-tree requirements can change, check the live in-game tree before committing points.
The same guide identifies other Survival options that may compete for those points:
- Looter’s Instincts: speeds up revealing container contents.
- Broad Shoulders: increases carrying capacity.
- Looter’s Luck: can reveal additional items.
- In-Round Crafting: unlocks field crafting.
Is Security Breach still worth taking?
It can be worthwhile if your regular routes take you to Security Lockers and you value the opportunity to access them. It is a weaker fit if lockers are rare on your routes or if another Survival skill would help you more consistently across runs. The adjustment makes the old assumption of unusually valuable locker loot less safe, but the available reports do not establish the current expected reward per locker or quantify the skill’s value against its point cost.

Use these checks before spending points
- Locker frequency: Consider whether your normal routes pass useful Security Lockers often enough to justify specializing in access.
- Payoff versus risk: Judge the current in-game loot against the detour and exposure involved; no reliable current drop-rate figures are provided by the cited reports.
- Alternative skills: Compare locker access with the looting, carrying-capacity, item-reveal, or crafting benefits you would otherwise take.
- Which update your judgment reflects: The documented adjustment is Update 1.2.0. The cited material does not verify whether later balance changes altered Security Breach, Security Lockers, or their live drop rates through October 4, 2026.
