Players were reported to have trouble joining matches and persistent lag after connecting. That account describes a past incident; it does not establish that an attack or outage is active now.
What Embark said about the server issues
GamesRadar+ reported on January 28, 2026, that Ossen posted to the ARC Raiders Discord that both games had been under “extensive, co-ordinated DDoS attacks.” She said the studio’s strike team was working on mitigations and solutions and making progress, but that “at this point in time the attacks are still ongoing.” GamesRadar+ reported her statement; it is a contemporary account of the Discord post, rather than a directly archived official post.
The report described players struggling to enter matches and experiencing persistent lag after joining. It also said Embark was preparing a hotfix for issues and unintended changes from the previous day’s update. Those update-related problems were a separate, simultaneous source of trouble, so not every reported symptom should be attributed solely to the attacks.
How the incident developed
Ossen’s initial statement said the attacks were ongoing. A later January 28 report from Wccftech described a Discord update saying servers were recovering, while noting that a complete resolution had not been established at the time. Wccftech’s report supports a same-day recovery update, but the available reporting does not establish how long recovery took or when the incident fully ended.

Are ARC Raiders servers down now?
The January 28 incident is historical, not proof of a current outage. Embark’s official game site and map-conditions page provide current game information, but the pages reviewed do not publish a server-health notice or confirm a current DDoS attack. Check Embark’s official channels for a live status update rather than treating the January report as evidence about today.
What DDoS attacks can mean for an online game
A DDoS attack attempts to disrupt a service by overwhelming it with traffic. In a live multiplayer game, disruption may show up as trouble connecting, unstable sessions, or lag. Nexon’s fiscal 2025 filing discusses the broader operational risk to its online games: it says waves of exceptionally large attacks have exceeded mitigation capacity, causing prolonged outages and disrupted player access. The filing is general risk disclosure; it does not identify those attacks as the January ARC Raiders incident or provide its scale.
No incident-specific attack volume, affected-player count, outage duration, or percentage is established in the cited reporting. Descriptions such as “extensive” do not supply those figures.
