In ARC Raiders update 1.17.0, Shrouded Sky, the Stitcher received a lower headshot multiplier and base damage plus roughly 50% more per-shot dispersion; the Venator received lower headshot and base damage. Wolfpack’s patch change was to its crafting recipe and listed value—not a documented reduction to its damage. These changes are from the February 24, 2026 patch notes and do not establish the weapons’ live stats in later builds.
What changed in Shrouded Sky 1.17.0?
Embark Studios published Shrouded Sky on February 24, 2026. Its weapon changes covered damage, headshot scaling, accuracy, and handling. The figures below are the developer’s stated before-and-after values for patch 1.17.0, not independently measured results.
| Weapon | Patch 1.17.0 changes | Developer context |
|---|---|---|
| Stitcher | Headshot multiplier: 2.5 to 1.75; base damage: 7 to 6.5; per-shot dispersion: increased by about 50%. | Embark aimed to reduce the unusually fast close-range headshot time-to-kill and make full sprays less accurate. |
| Venator | Headshot multiplier: 2.5 to 2; base damage: 9 to 8. | Embark said the weapon remained among its highest-performing in the data and was still dominating PvP; lowering damage was intended to bring down time-to-kill. |
| Wolfpack | Listed value: 5,000 to 6,000; recipe adds a Rocketeer Driver and reduces the Refined Explosive cost. | A crafting and economy change; the notes do not report a damage, blast-radius, or tracking reduction. |
| Kettle | Base damage: 10 to 8.5. | Embark wanted to distinguish its deliberate medium-range role from the Stitcher’s close-range role while retaining an incentive to aim for the head. |
| Jupiter | ADS magnification: about 1.9x to 2.2x; equip time: 1.2s to 1.05s; unequip time: 0.9s to 0.75s. | Improved target view and quicker weapon swapping after a shot. |
| Aphelion | Reload: 4.5s to 3.5s; time between shots: 0.9s to 0.7s; vertical recoil: reduced about 50%; ADS settle speed: improved about 35%. | Embark said the legendary weapon was intended for PvP but felt too bulky for the game’s pacing. |

How the Stitcher nerf changes its role
The Stitcher’s patch changes target both its damage and how reliably it can land repeated shots. Its headshot multiplier fell from 2.5 to 1.75, its base damage from 7 to 6.5, and its per-shot dispersion rose by about 50%. The dispersion increase means shots spread more quickly during sustained fire.

Embark’s stated concern was the gap between headshot and body-shot time-to-kill at close range. The developer note said the weapon’s fast TTK could leave an ambushed player with little time to react. Lower headshot scaling reduces the payoff from a concentrated headshot spray, while increased dispersion makes a full spray less accurate; the modest base-damage reduction applies alongside both adjustments.
What the Venator nerf changed
The Venator’s headshot multiplier dropped from 2.5 to 2, and its base damage went from 9 to 8. Unlike the Stitcher changes, the listed adjustment does not include a dispersion or handling change. Embark framed the issue as PvP performance: its data showed the Venator among the game’s highest-performing weapons, and players continued to report that it dominated fights.
The patch note says the damage reduction was intended to lower the Venator’s TTK. It also says Embark might examine ammunition consumption and cost efficiency if the damage change did not solve the issue; that possibility is not itself a change recorded in 1.17.0.

Did Wolfpack get a damage nerf?
No direct damage nerf is listed for Wolfpack in the Shrouded Sky notes. Its listed value increased from 5,000 to 6,000, and its crafting recipe changed: it now requires a Rocketeer Driver while using less Refined Explosive.
That is a recipe and economy adjustment, not evidence that the explosive’s damage, blast radius, or tracking was reduced. The patch notes do not state that Wolfpack’s combat stats changed.
Other weapon adjustments in the patch
Kettle
The Kettle’s base damage fell from 10 to 8.5. Embark described the intended distinction as a deliberate medium-range weapon versus the Stitcher’s close-range role, while preserving the value of headshots.

Jupiter
The Jupiter’s ADS magnification increased from about 1.9x to 2.2x. Equipping it became faster (1.2s to 1.05s), as did putting it away (0.9s to 0.75s), making it easier to acquire a target and swap weapons after firing.
Aphelion
The Aphelion’s reload time fell from 4.5s to 3.5s, and the time between shots from 0.9s to 0.7s. Its vertical recoil was reduced by about 50%, and ADS settle speed improved by about 35%. Embark said these handling and cadence improvements addressed a weapon that felt too bulky to keep up with PvP pacing.

Alongside the balance pass, the patch changed weapon input buffering. Embark said weapons should respond more reliably to spam-clicking, while players who pace their shots should see better results. This is relevant context when comparing how semi-automatic weapons behaved around the update; the note does not provide a specific weapon-by-weapon input-buffer figure.

Shrouded Sky also introduced Hurricane weather, two ARC types, a seasonal Weather Monitoring project, the free Surgeon Raider Deck, a Dam Battlegrounds map update, an Expedition window, and facial-hair options. In a February 23 preview, Embark described Hurricane conditions as low-visibility weather with strong winds and debris that damages shields while degrading their protection. The conditions also expose First Wave Raider Caches. The new Firefly is an armored flying ARC that emits flame; the Comet is a spherical ARC that locks onto a Raider and explodes. The Weather Monitoring project asks players to gather and contribute materials for rewards.
