Players had reportedly been able to get through locked doors and loot rooms without the required keycard. The reported changes added exploit-mitigation measures for locked rooms across maps and blocked exterior access to the locked room in Spaceport’s Control Tower.
What the locked-room exploit let players do
GamesRadar described the exploit as a way to cross a locked-room door and take its loot without a keycard. That gave players access to areas intended to require the item, rather than simply bypassing a combat encounter.
What Update 1.4.0 changed
GamesRadar reported that the update introduced mitigation for locked-room exploits across all maps. It also described a specific change at Spaceport: exterior access to the Control Tower’s locked room was blocked. The report does not establish that Embark permanently eliminated every underlying method of exploiting locked rooms.
When the fix rolled out
GamesRadar reported on November 27, 2025, that Update 1.4.0 was rolling out that day. Embark’s ARC Raiders release-notes index lists Patch Notes 1.4.0, confirming the patch entry exists. The exact patch-note detail was not retrievable from that page, so the specific implementation details here are attributed to GamesRadar’s November 27 report.

GamesRadar also reproduced a statement attributed to ARC Raiders community lead Ossen Julia in an official Discord announcement, saying the patch included a “very hot fix for the locked room exploits.” The quote is reported secondhand and was not independently verified against the Discord post.
What the report does not confirm
The available reporting describes mitigation, not a verified permanent root-cause fix or proof that ARC Raiders is now free of locked-room exploits. It also provides no figures for how many players used the exploit or how much loot was affected. The same update reportedly addressed a gun quick-swap exploit, but that was a separate change.
