Use the Spaceport Control Tower Key on the locked ground-floor door inside Control Tower A6, north of Vehicle Maintenance on The Spaceport. The door leads to a zipline up to the loot area; it does not open directly into the upper room.
Where to find the key door
Head to Control Tower A6, a central landmark on The Spaceport just north of Vehicle Maintenance. Some community guides label this tower B6, but the location descriptions refer to the same recognizable tower. The in-game item description uses A6, so look for the tower by Vehicle Maintenance rather than relying on the grid label alone. How to reach the upper loot area
- Travel to The Spaceport and locate Control Tower A6 north of Vehicle Maintenance.
- Enter at ground level and look for the locked door off the main hallway. The tower’s ground floor loops around, so your approach to the door may differ depending on which entrance you use; guides describe access from the southwestern side as well as a door on the north side.
- Use the key on the locked door, then take the zipline up to the upper area. The key opens the route to the zipline, not the loot room itself. Shacknews’ walkthrough describes the same tower-base route.
- Search the upper operations room. Reported loot points include drawers, a medical container, a Security Breach cabinet, breachable computer cabinets, lootable computers, and loose electronics or mechanical items. These are possible spawns, not guaranteed contents.
What to know before using the key
- It is single-use. The key is consumed when you open the door, giving you access for that raid. Bring another key if you want to open it in a later raid.
- The tower can be contested. It is a conspicuous central landmark in a high-traffic area, and the route up takes time. Check the approach and upper landing for threats before committing.
- The upper area is exposed. The climb and top area can leave you visible to sightlines. Plan how you will leave before you start looting.
- Leave room for loot, but do not count on a valuable haul. Electronics and mechanical items may spawn, but neither the items nor the room’s unlooted state are guaranteed.
Using the key is most practical when you are already near the tower, have inventory space, and have enough raid time to search and extract. If the approach looks contested or you cannot spare the time, saving the single-use key for another raid may make more sense; those are tactical considerations, not a guaranteed optimal strategy.
