Christian Linke named Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia as regions being explored for future League of Legends adaptations, while Riot co-founder Marc Merrill clarified that the regions do not mean three separate shows. One animated series was reported to have entered pre-production around late 2023, but the available reporting does not establish its current status or release date.
Are there really three Arcane sequel shows?
No. The “three shows” framing turns three regions under exploration into a project count that Riot has not confirmed. Linke discussed Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia as areas for future League of Legends adaptations; Merrill clarified that they do not correspond to three separate shows, as reported by TechRadar.
Arcane’s story concluded with season two. The future adaptations are broader League of Legends stories set in Runeterra, not an announced Arcane season three. They may share the franchise’s world, but the available announcements do not establish them as direct sequels to Arcane.
Which regions are being explored?
Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia
Linke named these three regions and said, “We’re really exploring these regions and there are essential characters that are attached to those regions.” The quotation and context appear in TechRadar’s interview report. Naming a region does not confirm that a particular project will focus on it, or that there will be one project per region.

Is the next show definitely about Noxus?
No region has been confirmed as the setting for the next series. Although Noxus is among the regions being explored, Linke did not confirm that it would lead the next project. He also declined to say whether Swain would appear or whether the regions would be brought together in one project. He described the work as early and dependent on finding the right creative vision and storytellers.
How far along is development?
PC Gamer reported on November 25, 2024, that the next League of Legends animated series had entered pre-production about a year earlier, placing that reported milestone around late 2023. The report did not identify the setting or provide a release window: PC Gamer’s November 2024 report.

That is a historical update, not confirmation of the project’s present stage. A TechRadar article published around Arcane’s first anniversary said it had no new development-status update to report. That lack of a public milestone in the article does not establish that no private progress has occurred: TechRadar’s anniversary coverage.
What has Riot confirmed about the people and studio?
Christian Linke is Riot Games’ Head of Animation Studio and oversees animation development, according to Riot’s leadership biography. In the TechRadar interview, Linke said: “At this point, it really comes down to finding the right visionaries, storytellers, and people to shepherd and realize these. So, I really can’t say anything too specific, but just know that we’re working hard on them.”
