Roblox does not publish a blanket rule that classifies every keyboard or mouse macro. Its policies prohibit cheating and exploiting, modified software that changes how Roblox works, and third-party apps that automate in-game actions such as movement. A simple input remap and a macro that repeatedly performs gameplay actions are not necessarily the same case, so do not assume either is permitted. Avoid gameplay automation unless Roblox’s rules clearly allow that exact use.
What Roblox’s rules say
Roblox’s Cheating and Exploiting page says cheating and exploiting violate its Terms of Use and can lead to account deletion. Roblox also says that using a modified version of its app or software that changes how Roblox works is against its rules; repeated violations may result in temporary suspension or a permanent ban, according to its Anti-cheat Messages guidance.
The Creator Third Party App Policy is more specific about automation: it prohibits third-party apps from automating in-game actions such as movement. It says exceptions may be made for particular AFK-style experiences where being away from the game is an explicit, substantial part of the experience. That is a narrow possibility for specific experiences, not a general permission for players to run macros.
Roblox’s Terms of Use also restrict circumvention of service features and unauthorized access. The cited terms do not specifically classify ordinary keyboard or mouse macros.

Does it matter what the macro does?
Yes. The practical distinction is between changing how an input is assigned and automating gameplay. The official pages cited here do not provide a universal ruling for every macro, device, or configuration, so the examples below are a guide to the policy issues—not a guarantee about how Roblox will treat a particular setup.
| Macro use | What the policies establish | Practical takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| Remapping a key or button to another input | The cited pages do not expressly classify ordinary input remapping. | Do not treat the absence of a specific mention as approval. Check with Roblox Support if the use is borderline. |
| Repeating clicks, movement, or other gameplay actions automatically | Roblox’s Creator Third Party App Policy prohibits third-party apps from automating in-game actions such as movement. | Avoid using automation to play for you, including repeated gameplay actions, unless Roblox clearly permits that exact use. |
| Using software that modifies Roblox or changes how it works | Roblox says modified apps and software that changes how Roblox works violate its rules. | Use the official, unmodified Roblox app; do not use tools that alter or interfere with it. |
| Automation in an experience designed explicitly for AFK play | The Creator policy says exceptions may be made for specific AFK-style experiences; it does not grant a general player-side exemption. | Do not assume an experience’s AFK theme alone makes a macro allowed. Confirm the exact use with Roblox. |
Can you get banned for using a macro?
Roblox states that cheating or exploiting can lead to account deletion. Its anti-cheat guidance says repeated use of modified apps or software that changes how Roblox works may lead to temporary suspension or a permanent ban. The cited material does not give a specific enforcement outcome for every ordinary macro, so it would be inaccurate to promise that a particular macro is safe—or to claim that every macro automatically results in a ban.

Roblox’s wording is clear about exploit tools: its support page says, “Exploiting or cheating is unfair to all Roblox players and creates a poor experience for everyone.” Roblox also warns that exploit downloads can contain malware, including keyloggers and phishing software. Avoid downloading exploit tools or attempting to evade anti-cheat systems.

What to do if you are unsure
- Identify exactly what the macro does: remap one input, repeat an action, automate movement, or interact with Roblox through a separate app.
- Do not use it if it exploits a game, circumvents Roblox controls, modifies the app, or automates gameplay in a way the rules prohibit.
- For a borderline input-remapping or accessibility use, consult Roblox Support and the applicable policy before using it. The official pages cited here do not settle every local device configuration.
