What the Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia comments mean
In late 2024, GamesRadar+ reported Linke’s statement that “Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia are getting shows.” Riot co-founder Marc Merrill then clarified: “To clarify, he didn’t say 3 separate shows – said exploring 3 regions.” He added, “We are exploring a bunch of different shows (and games).” GamesRadar+ reported Merrill’s clarification.
The distinction matters: exploring a region means it is under consideration as a setting, not that Riot has commissioned a show about it. Merrill’s clarification rules out treating Linke’s phrasing as confirmation of three separate shows. It does not identify which ideas, if any, have advanced to production.
What Linke said Riot is exploring
In a separate GamesRadar+ interview, Linke explained that Riot was exploring Noxus and Ionia and that the creative approach centers on characters: “What I said [in the Twitch interview] was we’re exploring these regions – Noxus, Ionia – and we always focus on characters, you know?” He said there were several characters under consideration and that he could not name them. The interview covers Linke’s comments on character-led development and formats.

Series and movie are possibilities, not a chosen format
Linke said, “We’re exploring both in many, many directions.” In context, “both” refers to series and movie formats. He did not say that Riot had selected one format for a particular story.
Linke described a long development process
Linke said it would take years and that Riot would discuss a project once it had confidence that something was happening. That is a general description of development, not a release estimate for a named Noxus, Ionia, or Demacia production.

What Arcane’s ending says about future Runeterra stories
Netflix’s official Arcane season-two guide says the story wraps with season two and quotes Linke: “But ARCANE is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.” The quote expresses Riot’s broader ambition for stories in the League of Legends setting; it does not announce a particular follow-up or confirm that any regional project is greenlit. Netflix’s page says both Arcane seasons are streaming, though availability can vary by territory.

Riot’s organizational announcement says Linke will lead its animation studio and Brian Wright its live-action studio. It describes Wright as developing a slate of “potential projects” based on Riot lore and narrative. Riot’s leadership page identifies Linke as Head of Animation Studio and Arcane co-creator and showrunner.

These details show that Riot has studio leadership and is considering lore-based projects across entertainment. They do not attach a named upcoming production to Noxus, Ionia, or Demacia, or establish that a specific successor to Arcane has been announced.
