In the “Paving the Way — The Hub” quest, find the designated Amethyst mining spot, place and power Electric Mining Rigs, then collect the ore from the Depot when the quest asks for it. The ore feeds an AIC production chain: a Refining Unit turns it into Amethyst Fiber, which is used to make Amethyst Components and Amethyst Parts for quest gear and a drill component. Exact map coordinates and a complete list of late-game uses are not established by the available references.
Where to find Amethyst Ore
The Hub quest walkthrough identifies an Amethyst mining spot and directs you to place Electric Mining Rigs there and supply them with power. It later has you retrieve the mined Amethyst Ore from the Depot. Follow the quest marker and instructions for the spot: the walkthrough and item reference do not provide exact coordinates or a more specific route.
The item reference lists Amethyst Mining Spots, extraction with Mining Rigs, and The Hub as acquisition routes. For the quest, the practical loop is to set up the rigs at the marked deposit and check the Depot when ore is needed. See the “Paving the Way — The Hub” walkthrough and the Amethyst Ore item reference.
How to process Amethyst Ore
Refine ore into Amethyst Fiber
Put Amethyst Ore through a Refining Unit. Its listed recipe converts one Amethyst Ore into one Amethyst Fiber in two seconds, according to the Refining Unit recipe reference. Amethyst Fiber is the intermediate material used by the downstream recipes described below.

Make Amethyst Components for gear
In the Hub quest, research Gearing Tech and use a Gearing Unit to produce Amethyst Components, which are needed to make Miner Overalls. Fiona, the Comms Officer, explains in the quest dialogue: “We’ll need some Amethyst Components. They’re essential for gear manufacturing.” The quest walkthrough documents this progression.
Make Amethyst Parts for the drill
The quest also has you research Parts Fitting and use a Fitting Unit to produce Amethyst Parts for Andre’s drill component. Fiona says: “The core component of the drill requires Amethyst Parts. Let’s make some with the Fitting Unit.” The Fitting Unit reference lists Amethyst Fiber as an input for Amethyst Part.

Another downstream branch
The Filling Unit recipe reference lists recipes that use Amethyst Bottles and describes those bottles as made by processing Amethyst Fibers. This is a further Amethyst-derived production branch; it does not show raw Amethyst Ore as a direct input to those filling recipes.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does Amethyst Ore have late-game uses?
The documented recipes and quest steps establish practical uses for the ore and its processed materials, but they do not establish a complete, version-current catalog of late-game recipes. A community discussion asks whether the ore is used late in the game, but that question is not an authoritative recipe source. Check the current in-game recipe listings for uses beyond the production chain described here; do not treat the Hub quest uses as an exhaustive list.
