Arknights: Endfield is a real-time squad action RPG, not a tower-defense game like the original Arknights. You explore Talos-II, switch between Operators in combat, collect resources, and build AIC Factory production to support your progress. Start by checking your device’s current requirements, then follow the game’s training and mission prompts as they introduce those connected systems.
What kind of game is Arknights: Endfield?
Arknights: Endfield launched worldwide on January 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. UTC+8 for PS5, PC, Android, iOS, and the Epic Games Store, according to Gryphline’s official pre-download notice. The game combines exploration, real-time squad combat, and industrial production. Hypergryph director Light Zhong described the goal as blending those systems “into a single, interconnected adventure.”
That connection is the key beginner idea: exploration helps you gather materials; factory production turns resources into useful supplies; and your squad uses those supplies as you continue through the world. Learn each system when the game introduces it rather than trying to master every mechanic at once.
Check platform requirements before downloading
Gryphline’s January 2026 pre-download notice published the following requirements. Treat them as a dated reference, not a guarantee that they remain unchanged: the client can be updated, so check the current official notice and your platform’s store listing before installing.

The same notice says save data syncs across the listed platforms when you use the same account. Choose the platform that suits your available device, storage, and preferred controls; a separate controller is not listed as a requirement.
Learn combat by controlling one Operator at a time
Combat happens in real time. The official PlayStation Blog overview describes battles with up to four Operators fighting together, with the player able to switch control among them. This means your first combat task is not to memorize an elaborate rotation: learn how to control the active Operator, recognize what the rest of the squad is doing, and switch when another character is better suited to the moment.

- Use the training and combat prompts as they appear; they are the safest guide to the controls in your current client.
- Practice switching between squad members during ordinary encounters so the control feels familiar before a tougher fight.
- Pay attention to how your chosen squad works together, but do not assume that a particular Operator is mandatory.
Specific damage rotations, universally best Operators, and current team rankings are not established here. Character strength and available options can change, so treat lists or recommendations as version- and account-dependent rather than requirements for starting the game.
Explore for resources, then use the AIC Factory
Exploration is more than travel between battles: gathering resources feeds the AIC Factory. The official game descriptions connect factory production with equipment, medical supplies, and other resources that support exploration and combat. When a new facility or production feature unlocks, follow its in-game instructions and build only what your current progression calls for.

- Explore the areas opened by your current missions and collect resources you encounter.
- Check the AIC Factory prompts when the story introduces facilities or production.
- Use the available production options to supply your needs, then return to exploration and missions.
There is no need to copy a complex factory blueprint at the beginning. Facility placement and farming tools are receiving changes: Gryphline’s October 7, 2026 developer notice says the October 15 Sanctuary of Ink update is scheduled to add direct facility placement from inventory or depots, farming improvements, and an Auto-Farmer unlocked through a named side mission. Those are announced features, not confirmed live changes as of October 8, 2026; check the current version and in-game prompts.
Follow the current story path, but check unlock conditions
For a first playthrough, use the mission guidance and training in your own client as the default route. Progression systems and unlock paths have changed over time, so an older guide may describe a route or reward presentation that no longer matches your account.

Beginner’s Chartered Tribute
A March 2, 2026 official developer communication says a permanent Beginner’s Chartered Tribute event becomes available after specified progress in Chapter I and can award a total of ten Chartered Headhunting Permits. Check the event screen in your client for current eligibility and presentation rather than assuming the reward is immediately available on a fresh account.
Wuling access
A July 11, 2026 Homecoming update describes an early Wuling unlock after completing Chapter I Process II: Remediation Progress. In the version covered by that notice, Chapter II missions were accessible from the Event screen, with the option to return to Valley IV. This is an example of a version-specific route, not a timeless instruction: follow your current client’s mission and unlock guidance.

Keep up with version changes
Endfield’s combat, factory, and progression systems are being adjusted after launch. As of October 8, 2026, the latest official update announcement available here is Gryphline’s October 7 developer communication for the Sanctuary of Ink Core Chapter Version, scheduled for October 15. Besides the factory and farming changes, it previews an enemy-lock-on aiming reticle and a setting to prioritize combo skills when several activate together. These features were announced for a future update at that date; verify their availability in the live game before relying on them.
The practical habit is simple: when a guide’s steps do not match your screen, trust the current in-game instruction and check the latest official notices. This matters especially for event eligibility, facility placement, and newly introduced combat options.
