Where to start “Building an Outpost”
The mission is a Chapter I, Process 1 main mission in Valley IV’s Valley Pass, within the Broken Lands sequence. It unlocks after “Secure Sanctuary” and has no level restriction listed by Game8. PowerPyx identifies Mr. Soth as the quest giver.
- Leave the shelter and travel to the marked location in Valley Pass.
- Speak with Mr. Soth to begin the mission.
Building an Outpost walkthrough
Defeat the Landbreakers and establish the Sub-PAC
- Defeat the seven Landbreakers at the marked site.
- Place the Sub-PAC to establish the outpost.
- Configure the requested Sub-PAC output and use the refining setup as directed by the objective. This prepares the outpost to process materials.
Build and power the Gun Towers
- Construct three Gun Towers.
- Deploy the towers at the marked site.
- Place an Electric Pylon to transmit power from the Sub-PAC to the towers. Check the objective prompt and power connection before moving on.
Defend the outpost and enter the Protocol Space
- Speak with Soth, then use the powered towers to defeat the attacking Landbreakers.
- Follow Daniel to the underground ventilation shaft.
- Enter the nearby Protocol Space and clear its level to finish the mission.
The objective order is also listed by Game8 and PowerPyx. The community-maintained mission objectives page is marked under construction, so treat the walkthroughs and your current in-game prompts as the practical reference.
If a mission step does not advance
Compare the stuck objective with the sequence above and finish its preceding trigger before repeating the step. For example, the defense begins after speaking with Soth, and Protocol Space entry follows the instruction to meet Daniel at the ventilation shaft. If construction or power transmission is still pending, verify that the requested structures are placed at the marked site and that the Electric Pylon connects the Sub-PAC to the towers.

What the quest unlocks
During this quest progression, the Regional Development System becomes available, according to Game8 and GameWith. A community-maintained outpost overview describes trading goods for Regional Stock Bills and says bill accumulation pauses when the balance reaches capacity until you trade. Because that detail comes from a community source, check the current in-game system before relying on it as a precise mechanic.
