Walkthroughs describe this as a quest-progression step; they do not document a lasting story branch or reward tied to the first picks.
What the vinyl choice does
In the main quest “Mystery in the Building,” the vinyl scene takes place in Yvonne’s laboratory. The two records initially available at the player are both rejected; the walkthroughs direct you to find another record elsewhere in the room and play that one. The resulting scene advances the quest toward its next objectives. AllThings.How, PowerPyx, and GameWith describe this same progression.
The walkthroughs do not establish that either initial pick changes affinity, creates an alternate ending, or affects a later story outcome. Treat the scene as a progression interaction rather than a consequential choice with a documented long-term result.
How to find the record and continue

At the vinyl player in Yvonne’s lab, try the two records already offered. Neither is the record she wants.

Search the rest of the room for the box of additional vinyl records. Walkthroughs describe the extra record as being in a corner of the lab.

Inspect the box, then return to the player and select the newly available record.

Watch the ensuing scene and follow the next quest objectives. PowerPyx’s walkthrough continues toward the repair platform, combat, and defending Tata; those are later mission steps, not consequences of which initial record you tried.
These room-level directions are more reliable than depending on an exact prompt label: the cited walkthroughs do not specify the game build or regional localization they used, and dialogue wording may vary.

What the guides confirm—and what they don’t
Three walkthroughs agree on the useful sequence: try the initial records, inspect the additional records in the lab, then play the newly found vinyl to continue. Their accounts establish how to get past the scene, but not every possible hidden game flag. No official quest documentation describing this interaction is cited; the official Endfield operator page confirms Yvonne is an in-game operator, not what this particular choice does. Future updates could also change the quest flow.
