If that fails, restart the game and inspect mods. Only then move to host-side checks such as visibility, port forwarding, and Linux or Docker bind settings. A server can be absent from the list yet still be reachable by direct connection, so treat listing and connectivity as separate problems.

What “not showing up” actually means
There are two different failures that players often describe with the same sentence:

- Discovery failure: the server is running, but it does not appear in the Multiplayer browser.
- Reachability failure: the server appears, or you have its address, but a connection attempt fails.
Those conditions can occur independently. Bohemia Interactive notes that server visibility can differ because of filters, platform restrictions, ping limits, region, or crossplay settings. Two players can therefore receive different browser results while looking at the same service. Conversely, a server may be listed as online while its registered address is not reachable from outside the host network.
Use the sequence below in order. It begins with changes that affect only your client, then moves to modifications that affect every player and the host network.

1. Reset the Multiplayer browser on the client
Do these steps before changing router or server files. They eliminate the most common causes without altering the host.
- Open Multiplayer directly from the main menu.
- Clear any text in the server search field.
- Remove restrictive filters and choose the intended scenario or server type.
- Review the region, maximum-ping, platform, and crossplay options. Use a broad setting temporarily so the browser can return the largest possible result set.
- Select Refresh in the Multiplayer browser and wait for the list to repopulate. Bohemia’s support guidance specifically recommends waiting about a minute before refreshing when no servers are visible.
- If the list is still empty, return to the main menu, open Multiplayer again, and repeat the refresh.
- Restart the game if reopening the browser does not restore results.
Entering multiplayer through Play, Game Master, or Scenarios can present a narrower context than the full browser. When you are looking for one particular server, always start from the main-menu Multiplayer entry.

2. Check every setting that can hide a server
Search text and restrictive filters
A single character in the search field can remove every result. Delete the search text while testing. Then disable filters one at a time rather than assuming the server is offline. Once the target appears, re-enable filters individually to find the setting that excluded it.
Region and ping limits
A server in another region may be omitted when the browser is limited to a local region. A strict ping ceiling can have the same effect. Temporarily use a broader region and a less restrictive ping limit, then narrow the choices after the server is visible.
Platform and crossplay scope
Platform restrictions and crossplay settings influence which records your client receives. If one player can see a server and another cannot, compare those settings first. The host and joining player need a compatible crossplay scope; changing a client filter cannot make an incompatible server joinable, but it can explain why the entry is absent.

Scenario and server type
Confirm that the browser is showing the scenario and type used by the host. A server can be healthy but excluded by a mode-specific view. Test with the broadest applicable type before concluding that registration failed.

Mod state is a frequent reason for both missing entries and failed joins. Version mismatches, incomplete downloads, storage limits, and a recent game or mod update can all interfere with discovery or connection.
- Restart the game and allow all queued mod downloads to finish.
- Check that the device has enough storage for the required content. A full storage location can leave a download incomplete even though the browser continues to load.
- Temporarily disable recently added or recently updated mods on the client.
- Try the server again with a no-mod or known-compatible baseline, if the host offers one.
- Add or enable mods again in small groups until the conflicting item is identified.
The host should also verify that its enabled mod versions match the versions available to players. Do not change router settings to solve a version or download problem: a network that is correctly exposed cannot compensate for incompatible content.
4. Confirm the host is visible and actually online
When you administer the server, check its status from the host side before asking every player to repeat client troubleshooting.
- Confirm that the server is configured as visible rather than private or hidden.
- Verify the displayed server name and region so players know which entry to identify after a refresh.
- Wait after the service reports Online. Registration and browser propagation are not necessarily instantaneous.
- Ask one player to search with cleared filters and the correct crossplay scope.
- Attempt a direct connection using the server’s documented address. If direct connection works but the browser does not list the server, the core service is reachable and the remaining fault is likely registration or browser discovery.
This separation prevents a common mistake: treating a listing problem as proof that the process is stopped, or treating an unjoinable entry as proof that the browser is broken.

5. Expose a self-hosted server to the internet
A server running on a home or private network is not automatically reachable from the public internet. Bohemia Interactive Community hosting documentation states that internet-visible hosting requires port forwarding.
Forward the configured game port
The documented default public game port is UDP 2001. Forward that UDP port on the router to the local machine running the server. If you changed the game port in the server configuration, forward the configured value instead of assuming 2001 still applies.

After saving a forwarding rule, allow the server time to register again and test from a connection outside the local network. A test from the same LAN can succeed even when internet forwarding is incorrect, so an external player is the useful confirmation.
Check the public address and network path
Use the address and port documented by the host configuration when attempting a direct connection. If a managed network, carrier-grade NAT, or another upstream router sits between the server and the internet, a forwarding rule on only the inner router may not be sufficient. In that situation, ask the network administrator or hosting provider whether inbound UDP traffic can reach the machine.
6. Correct Linux and Docker registration addresses
Containerized deployments have a specific failure mode. The hosting documentation warns that a game server can register the Docker container’s IP for browser registration and client connections. That address is normally not reachable by players outside the container network, so the browser may show an apparently online service that nobody can join.

- Inspect the server’s bind and client-connect settings in the deployment configuration.
- Ensure the advertised address is a reachable host or local address appropriate to the network path, not an internal container address.
- Apply the documented setting, restart the server, and wait for it to register again.
- Test from an external player using direct connection before judging the browser listing.
The exact value depends on how the Linux host, container network, and router are arranged. The important rule is that the address announced to clients must be reachable from their network; an address that works only inside Docker is not a valid public registration address.
7. Use direct connection to separate listing from reachability
Direct connection is a diagnostic, not merely a workaround. Its result identifies which branch to follow.

If direct connection works while the browser remains empty after the host has confirmed visibility and a reachable address, treat it as a listing or backend issue rather than repeatedly changing the router. Give the host the server name, region, configured port, and the fact that direct connection succeeds when contacting support.

“No servers are showing at all”
Open Multiplayer from the main menu, clear search text, remove filters, broaden region and ping, check crossplay, and select the correct scenario or type. Refresh and wait about a minute. Reopen Multiplayer and restart the game if necessary. If another player sees a normal list, compare platform and crossplay settings before investigating the host.
“My friend cannot see my server, but I can”
Have your friend repeat the browser reset on their device. Compare region, ping, platform, and crossplay settings. Confirm that the server is marked visible and that its name and region are communicated exactly. Then test direct connection. A successful direct connection points to a listing mismatch; a failed one points to forwarding, address registration, or mods.

“The dedicated server is online but missing”
Wait for registration, refresh from a client with broad filters, and verify that the host is not advertising a Docker-only address. For an internet server, confirm the configured UDP port is forwarded to the correct machine. If direct connection succeeds, preserve the working configuration and focus on browser registration rather than rebuilding the server.

Check the advertised address and port first. On Linux or Docker, replace an unreachable container IP with the documented reachable bind or client-connect address. On a home network, verify UDP forwarding and test from outside the LAN. Then return to mod versions, incomplete downloads, storage limits, and recent updates.
“It stopped appearing after an update”
Let client and server downloads complete, restart both sides, and verify mod versions. Disable recently changed mods to establish a baseline. Only after content is synchronized should you revisit visibility, port, or bind configuration.
9. Client versus host: who should make the change?

10. Self-hosted or managed hosting?
Self-hosting gives you control over visibility, ports, and bind addresses, but you must maintain the router path and troubleshoot the host operating system or container network. A managed Arma Reforger service normally handles public exposure and the underlying network configuration, reducing the number of variables when a home connection cannot accept inbound traffic. It does not remove client-side filters, crossplay limits, or mod compatibility requirements, so the browser reset and content checks still apply.
Choose self-hosting when you can reliably control the router and advertised address. Consider managed hosting when inbound forwarding is unavailable, the network uses an upstream NAT you cannot configure, or you need a stable public endpoint without maintaining the host network yourself.

11. Final verification checklist
- Multiplayer was opened directly from the main menu.
- Search text is empty and restrictive filters are disabled during testing.
- Region, ping, platform, crossplay, scenario, and server type match the intended server.
- The browser was refreshed after waiting, then reopened and the game restarted if needed.
- Mod downloads completed, storage is available, and recent mods were isolated.
- The host is marked visible and has remained Online long enough to register.
- The configured UDP port is known; UDP 2001 is the documented default when unchanged.
- Internet hosting forwards that port to the correct server machine.
- Linux or Docker deployments advertise a reachable host or local address, not a container-only IP.
- A direct-connection test has been used to classify a listing problem separately from a reachability problem.
Follow the checklist in that order. It moves from reversible client changes to host configuration and changes only one class of variable at a time, making the failed step—and therefore the likely cause—clear.
