ARMA Reforger 1.5.0.14 was a Steam Experimental update published on 31 July 2025, not a stable-release announcement. Bohemia Interactive did not release this build on Xbox, citing an increased crash rate that could put the Experimental application’s availability there at risk. The developer also warned that the work-in-progress build was not guaranteed to be stable. The update’s biggest change was a substantial Conflict overhaul built around a new HQ Commander role, alongside new weapons, vehicle and construction mechanics, input support, and a wide set of fixes. Read Bohemia Interactive’s official 1.5.0.14 Experimental Update notes.

What changed in Conflict?

The update introduces an HQ Commander role. Players can volunteer for the role or vote for a commander. The accompanying Conflict changes affect command, squads, bases, support, logistics, objectives, and AI transport:

  • Bases and supplies: Players can establish bases, with revised supply costs and storage composition. Harbor and Airport bases generate supplies.
  • Squads: New group types have associated loadouts, players can vote for a squad leader, and squads can request support through the map.
  • Command posts: HQ tents provide command posts for Logistics, Operations, and Combat.
  • Recon: A new Recon objective type is available.
  • Commander support: Commanders can send AI transport groups to resupply bases.
  • Ranks and rewards: Rank affects how much military supply a player can allocate. XP rewards were revised, with new rewards for vehicle repair, medical assistance, and unloading supplies.
  • FIA forces: Their locations and composition were heavily changed across maps.

The notes do not give before-and-after figures for XP rewards, supply costs, or FIA force composition, so the scale of those balance changes cannot be quantified from the changelog.

What other playable content was added?

A new single-player scenario, “Air Support,” is included. Game Master also gets transceivers for radio use. Nametag visualization and rules were substantially adjusted, and the option to request transport to a deployed radio was removed.

New weapons, uniforms, mines, and flares

The Assets changes add the following equipment:

  • Launchers: RPG-22 and RPG-75.
  • RPG-7 ammunition: PG-7VM and PG-7VR.
  • Uniforms: TTSKO and tiger stripe.
  • Anti-personnel mines: PMN-4 and M14.
  • Other equipment: Hand-fired flares.

Light portals were also added to more vehicles.

Vehicle movement, construction, and driving changes

Players can now move on vehicles. Stationary turret weapons and mortars can be assembled from parts, and small sandbag objects can be built using sandbag items. A Repair truck can salvage wrecked vehicles for supplies. Foliage also reacts when characters or vehicles pass through it.

Driving assistance now changes what happens when a driver exits a vehicle:

Stability, performance, Workshop, and modding fixes

The update lists several memory-consumption improvements and a change intended to improve re-streaming of destructibles. It also fixes rare or possible crashes associated with explosions, character disabling, shell movement, ladders, prefab destruction setup, model switching, damage-system cleanup, and resuming after a scenario restart. These are changelog entries, not published benchmark results: Bohemia Interactive provided no frame-rate, memory-use, or crash-rate figures.

Workshop fixes address missing dependency-size information, corrupted addon manifests when a download resumes, and queued addons remaining in the queue when the game is quit. For modders, the task system was overhauled to support subtasks and group assignment; the update also adds hit-zone save/load replication support and includes script/API and editor changes.

Platform and stability caveat

Bohemia Interactive published 1.5.0.14 for the game’s Steam Experimental application on 31 July 2025. The announcement says this particular build was not issued on Xbox because its increased crash rate could jeopardize the Experimental application’s availability on that platform. It does not establish that every 1.5 build, later build, or stable version was unavailable on Xbox. The developer described the build as work in progress and did not guarantee stability. The official announcement provides no crash-rate statistic or measured performance results.
