What’s actually slowing this PC down?

There is no single best settings preset for every PC. Choose your resolution and frame-rate goal first, start with the closest matching Ubisoft configuration, then use Mirage’s built-in benchmark to compare changes on your own system. If performance falls short, test a compatible upscaler before lowering several graphics settings at once.
Best graphics settings for Assassin’s Creed Mirage on PC
Set the game to the resolution you actually play at and decide whether your priority is a steady frame rate or higher visual detail. Ubisoft’s published PC configurations are useful starting points, not guarantees that every system will hit the listed target. They were published in 2023; actual performance can vary by hardware, drivers, game updates, and settings.

The 4K Ultra configuration names NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards; it does not list an Intel Arc example. See Ubisoft’s PC specifications and features for the full configuration details.
How to improve performance without making the game look worse
Make one change at a time, then compare the result in the same benchmark conditions. This helps identify whether a setting actually improves the experience rather than trading away image quality unnecessarily.

- Experience a modern take on the iconic features and gameplay that have defined a franchise for 15 years as you parkour seamlessly through the city and stealthily take down targets with more visceral assassinations than ever before.
- Choose the output resolution and frame-rate target. Use the resolution of your display and a target you can sustain. A 60 FPS goal at 1440p or 4K is a different workload from 1080p at 30 FPS.
- Start with the nearest Ubisoft configuration. Treat its preset and hardware tier as a baseline. If your PC is between listed configurations, begin with the lower-demand option and assess it rather than assuming a particular preset will perform identically.
- Run the in-game benchmark. Record the performance shown and note visible issues, such as image softness or distracting detail loss. The PC version includes a benchmark for performance analysis, according to the Ubisoft Store listing.
- Test an upscaler if you need more performance. Ubisoft names Intel XeSS, NVIDIA DLSS, and AMD FSR as options that can upscale resolution. Which choices appear depends on your graphics hardware and the game’s menu. Compare available modes on your own display: upscaling can help performance, but image quality may differ by mode.
- Adjust individual graphics settings gradually. Change one option, rerun the benchmark, and inspect the image before changing another. The official material does not establish setting-by-setting FPS gains, so there is no reliable universal list of the options that save the most frames.
Keep the comparison conditions consistent: resolution, frame-rate target, upscaler mode, and benchmark run. Consider both frame-rate results and frame-time consistency; a higher average alone does not tell you whether play feels smooth.
Best settings for FPS: what to prioritize
For a practical FPS-focused setup, use a preset appropriate to your hardware, then test a supported upscaler if the benchmark misses your target. Lowering resolution or visual quality can also be considered, but each is a trade-off: lower resolution can reduce sharpness, while a lower preset can reduce detail. The right choice depends on which compromise you notice least.

Mirage’s PC release also supports uncapped frame rates, HDR, and multi-monitor and widescreen features, according to Ubisoft’s PC features announcement. An uncapped option does not itself ensure a stable frame rate; judge performance against your display and the benchmark rather than assuming a cap or preset will suit every system.

PC recommendations do not apply directly to the console version. Ubisoft said the PS5 Pro update provides 4K at 60 FPS using PSSR upscaling, sets Quality Mode to 60 FPS by default (compared with 30 FPS on classic PS5), and improves shadows, reflections, texture resolution, and draw distance. These are Ubisoft’s stated platform features, not a PC benchmark result. Details are in Ubisoft’s PS5 Pro announcement.
