For an in-game quest, Ubisoft’s documented fix is to reload its objective from the Quests menu. For a Rewards challenge, the max-level issue resembles a challenge reported in June 2023, but that historical example does not establish why a current challenge is failing—or whether one is available to you now.
Identify which quest is stuck
“Quest” can mean two different things here, and the fixes are not interchangeable.

For a stuck in-game quest: reload the objective
Ubisoft says an in-progress Origins quest objective can be reloaded. Open the in-game menu, go to Quests, select Reload quest objective, and confirm. For a Game Pass or Rewards challenge: verify that it is current
A June 6–13, 2023 Game Pass quest listed “Gain 1 Player Level” or “Avenge 1 Player.” Players discussing that historical challenge reported that gaining a level did not register for max-level characters, while some said the avenge objective was unavailable to them. Those were player reports about a past challenge, not an official diagnosis or evidence of a current Origins quest. Before trying to repeat an action, open the Rewards page and read the objective shown for your account. Record its wording and expiration date, and check that the quest is available for your region, plan, and platform. Xbox notes that Game Pass catalog availability can vary by time, region, plan, and platform; that general availability guidance does not confirm an active Origins Rewards challenge. If the challenge is active but still does not register, contact Xbox Support with the exact quest text and dates. The available general support information does not provide a title-specific fix for an Origins Rewards tracking failure.

Check the level cap and DLC before deciding you are maxed out
The level cap depends on expansion content. Ubisoft’s January 16, 2018 announcement for The Hidden Ones says that expansion raised the cap from 40 to 45. The same announcement says The Curse of the Pharaohs raises it further, but the cited passage does not give that later cap. Do not assume level 40 is the maximum if you have expansion content installed, or infer an exact later cap from that announcement alone. Ubisoft News: The Hidden Ones DLC available now.
If a Curse of the Pharaohs quest is missing
Ubisoft says the expansion’s quest appears after you complete “May Amun Walk Beside You.” If the content still cannot be found, confirm that The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC is installed. Ubisoft Help: Accessing The Curse of the Pharaohs content.

Use this troubleshooting order
- Read the location and wording. If the objective is in the game’s Quests menu, treat it as an in-game quest. If it appears in Xbox Rewards, capture the exact objective and expiration shown there.
- For an in-game objective, reload it. Open the menu, choose Quests, select Reload quest objective, and confirm.
- For missing DLC content, check both conditions. Complete “May Amun Walk Beside You” and verify that The Curse of the Pharaohs is installed.
- For a level-related Rewards objective, account for expansions. The Hidden Ones raised the cap from 40 to 45; the cited Ubisoft announcement confirms that Curse of the Pharaohs raises it further without specifying the final cap in that passage.
- If an active Rewards challenge remains untracked, contact Xbox Support. Include its exact text and dates; there is no established universal fix for this specific tracking problem.
