The Assassin’s Creed Red gameplay reveal happened at Ubisoft Forward on June 10, 2024—but by then, the game had been renamed Assassin’s Creed Shadows. When did Assassin’s Creed Red’s gameplay reveal happen?
Ubisoft first announced Assassin’s Creed Codename RED on September 10, 2022, describing it as an open-world RPG set in feudal Japan. In 2024, Ubisoft presented the game as Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Its gameplay reveal took place during Ubisoft Forward on June 10, 2024, at an event scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. CEST. Ubisoft reported that the presentation showed 13 minutes of new gameplay footage; that is Ubisoft’s stated duration, not an independent measurement.
Ubisoft’s 2022 Forward recap introduced Codename RED as a feudal-Japan open-world RPG, while Ubisoft’s June 10, 2024 walkthrough report covered the footage under the Shadows name.
What did the reveal show about Yasuke and Naoe?
The walkthrough presented two protagonists with distinct approaches. Ubisoft’s account describes their sequences and tools; it is not a head-to-head test, so it does not establish that one character is better than the other.

How do seasons and weather affect the gameplay shown?
Ubisoft described changing weather and seasons as gameplay factors, especially for Naoe’s stealth. In the spring mission shown, she can hide in bushes and move underwater through a pond. Rainfall can muffle sound, and night and rain make her harder to detect, according to Ubisoft’s walkthrough account.
Winter changes those options: the pond freezes, bushes lose their concealing leaves, and snow can reveal footprints. These are Ubisoft’s descriptions of the gameplay, not independent hands-on findings.

What is Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ current support status?
In a March 4, 2026 franchise update, Ubisoft said Assassin’s Creed Shadows was entering its final phase of support, with updates becoming smaller and less frequent. That describes the support phase; it does not mean the game was still awaiting its reveal.
