Ubisoft delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows from February 14 to March 20, 2025. Announced on January 9, 2025, the move gave the team one more month to work on the game. Ubisoft said it wanted to better incorporate player feedback gathered over the previous three months.
What changed in the release date?
The January announcement was the second announced postponement in the game’s release timeline. Ubisoft had previously moved the game to February 14, 2025; the January 9 update then set March 20, 2025 as the new date. Ubisoft’s US store now lists the game as released on March 20, 2025.

Why did Ubisoft delay it?
Ubisoft said the extra month would let the team better incorporate player feedback collected over the preceding three months and help create better conditions for launch. That is the publisher’s stated rationale; the announcement does not independently establish which development changes followed from the feedback or whether they improved the final release.
