Assassin’s Creed Shadows reveals map information as you explore; it does not begin as a complete checklist of every point of interest. Use viewpoints, observation, clues and scouts to find things in the game, or consult a companion map when you want external references and progress tracking.
How the in-game map works
Ubisoft describes the world map as starting with region names and drawings that hint at important locations. As you travel, nearby details appear, and zoom levels show different kinds of information. The map is designed to support discovery rather than expose every opportunity at once. Ubisoft’s map-design discussion quotes Game Director Charles: “We didn’t want to hold the player’s hand too much with icons and markers”.
Reveal nearby points of interest
Finding a viewpoint reveals nearby points of interest, which can include districts, temples, shrines and castles. It does not automatically uncover a large region full of opportunity icons. To discover places organically, explore, observe your surroundings and follow clues.
Find and follow objectives
Place a marker to set a destination. While riding, the optional Pathfinder can help guide you toward it. Scouts can help narrow down quest locations, and the Guided option provides clearer quest tracking if you prefer more direction.

What the official interactive map offers
Piggyback calls its Assassin’s Creed Shadows interactive map the official map and says it was made after close collaboration with Ubisoft. Its published features include progress tracking, custom notes and markers, an Ultra HD map, and “over 3,400 screenshots in 4K.” Piggyback does not state a publication year for that screenshot count on the map page.
These are the publisher’s feature claims, not independent test results. The screenshot figure alone does not establish that every location is covered. The map page offers registration, a Premium upgrade and code redemption, but the available registration information does not establish current pricing or which features require payment. Check the map’s own page for current access details.

Alternative interactive map
GameMappers’ Assassin’s Creed Shadows map is a separate option. Its publisher lists categories for sites and activities, targets, resources and commerce, collectibles, and secrets. The page is dated December 30, 2025, and says it was updated February 28, 2026.
GameMappers also notes that some secret areas may depend on community contributions. Treat its coverage and completeness as the publisher describes them, rather than as independently verified. The available information does not provide a neutral, feature-by-feature test against Piggyback’s map.

Printed guide option
If you prefer a physical reference, Piggyback lists standard and Collector’s Edition print editions of its Assassin’s Creed Shadows official guide. The publisher describes a complete world atlas covering collectibles, legendary chests, castles, temples and viewpoints, and says every copy includes a code for the Premium interactive map upgrade. The guide is optional; you do not need it to use the interactive map. The product page’s retailer links do not establish current stock or prices.
