When did Assassin’s Creed Shadows release?
Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Shadows on March 20, 2025. Ubisoft’s US store listing continues to show that date, and Ubisoft’s March 7, 2025 launch announcement described it as the worldwide release date.

Ubisoft had announced earlier delays, but for anyone checking now, there is no future release date to wait for: the game is already available on supported platforms.

Ubisoft’s January 23, 2025 PC announcement named the launch platforms and storefronts. Its March launch announcement named the same broad group.

The current Ubisoft US store page also lists Switch 2 digital availability. That is a later entry on the live store listing, not part of Ubisoft’s original March 2025 launch-platform announcement. The same current page has platform entries for PC, PS5, Xbox, Steam, Switch 2, and PS4/PS5; a live listing should not be used as a reconstruction of launch-day availability.
How to download the Windows PC version
Choose a storefront where the game is listed—Ubisoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store—and follow that storefront’s purchase or subscription flow. For a Ubisoft Store PC purchase, Ubisoft says the game is automatically added to Ubisoft Connect. Playing that version requires a Ubisoft account and the Ubisoft Connect application. Ubisoft’s store listing also says Denuvo DRM is installed automatically and is required to launch the game.

The listing specifies Windows 10/11 and DirectX 12. Ubisoft’s January 23 PC announcement contains some GPU and tier details that differ from the current store page, so use the live store listing for its present requirements rather than merging the two versions into a single specification.

PC features Ubisoft announced
Ubisoft’s January 23 PC announcement advertised ray-traced global illumination and reflections, an in-game performance benchmark, ultrawide support, upscaling and frame-generation options, and uncapped framerate. These are announced PC features; the announcement does not establish that every option is available on every hardware configuration.

Yes. Ubisoft’s March 7, 2025 announcement said platform-specific preload schedules had been released. The timetable appears as an image in the announcement rather than readable text, so exact opening times and time zones cannot be verified from its text. No precise preload time is listed here.
What the sales statistic does—and does not—mean
Ubisoft’s March 2025 announcement said the Assassin’s Creed series had sold more than 200 million copies worldwide since debuting in 2007. That is a franchise-wide total, not a sales figure for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
