Yes, Ubisoft has acknowledged and fixed several specific loss-of-control and stuck-state bugs in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Its Title Update 1.5.1 notes include a case where Eivor could lose control after an ability was removed from the ability wheel during combat, along with particular arena-related problems. Those patch notes do not confirm one universal, currently open “Eivor can’t move” bug: the cause depends on what the player was doing and where the character became stuck.

Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.5.1 notes list a fix for players losing control of Eivor when an ability was removed from the ability wheel during combat. They also describe specific arena scenarios that could leave players stuck or without control, including a challenge completion, exit, and restart sequence, and a Mastery Challenge situation.

The notes document other stuck states too, but they are not all ordinary movement failures. Examples include Havi stuck while exploring near a border during the introduction quest, characters trapped in walls or rocks, and free-fall animation or desynchronization problems. These are specific historical fixes, not evidence that every report of “I cannot move Eivor” shares one cause or that the same defect remains open today.
How to narrow down what is happening
Before reporting the issue, note what has stopped responding and the exact context. These details help distinguish a blocked character, a scripted transition, and a control-loss bug; they are diagnostic questions, not a confirmed Ubisoft diagnosis.

- Where and when: Record the platform, quest or activity, exact location, and the action immediately before movement stopped. Note whether it happened in combat, an arena challenge, free roam, dialogue, or a cutscene.
- What still responds: Check whether the camera and menus work, and whether Eivor has lost movement alone or all character control.
- What the character is doing: Describe whether Eivor appears pinned against a wall or rock, locked in an animation, falling, or waiting for a scripted transition.
- What happened immediately before: Mention any ability-wheel change during combat, or any arena challenge completion, exit, or restart.
- Input setup: Include the platform and whether you use a keyboard and mouse or a controller. This information can help Ubisoft assess the report; it does not establish that the input device caused the problem.
What to do if Eivor is still stuck
The available official guidance does not establish a universal workaround for this symptom. In particular, it does not confirm that reloading, fast travel, disconnecting a controller, reinstalling the game, or changing a setting will fix every stuck-state case. Avoid treating any of those as a guaranteed repair.
- Write down the reproduction steps while the sequence is clear: what you expected to happen, what happened instead, and the location or activity.
- Check Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla technical troubleshooting guidance and follow its general troubleshooting steps for problems running the game.
- If the problem persists on PC, Ubisoft advises contacting support and attaching DxDiag and MSInfo reports. Include images or video if they show the issue clearly.
- When submitting a bug report, provide the point in the game, expected behavior, steps to reproduce, any workaround you have actually found, and supporting evidence. Do not describe a speculative workaround as confirmed.
Can control settings explain the symptom?
Ubisoft’s accessibility overview says Valhalla supports keyboard, mouse, and controller remapping, as well as several movement and control adjustments. Reviewing those options can help check whether an input is mapped as intended, but Ubisoft does not present remapping as a fix for a persistent game-state bug.

The same overview describes an audio cue for blocked movement. Franck Murcia, user experience director at Ubisoft Montreal, explained: “When your character is not able to move in a direction, we play a small audio cue to notify you that the character is stuck.” Hearing that cue can indicate that the game considers the direction blocked; it is not, by itself, a repair for a persistent loss of control.

“Eivor stuck,” “can’t move,” “lost control of Eivor,” and “stuck in the arena with no control” describe a player’s experience, not necessarily a single underlying defect. Community posts use similar wording, but they do not establish that reports share a cause or show how common the problem is. Ubisoft’s patch notes identify particular fixed cases without giving an affected-player count.
