These are not interchangeable platform lists: Assetto Corsa’s PC feature details come from its Steam page, while the console edition information comes from a separate publisher announcement. Forza Motorsport is the clearer fit if you specifically want to play on Xbox Series X|S.
How much driving setup and detail do you want?
Assetto Corsa: more explicit setup and telemetry features
The original Assetto Corsa’s Steam description highlights physics systems, tire behavior, telemetry, adjustable vehicle setups and configurable driving assists. It lists four assist profiles—Gamer, Racer, Pro and Customizable—and describes single-player, multiplayer and customizable race weekends. This makes it the stronger match on the evidence here for a player who wants to explore car setup and driving data. Those listed features describe its emphasis; they do not prove that its physics are better than Forza Motorsport’s.
Forza Motorsport: a contemporary Xbox and PC offering
The official materials consulted describe Forza Motorsport’s multiplayer and note AI and racing-wheel feature improvements in Update 20. They do not provide a comparable account of telemetry, setup options or controller accessibility, so a like-for-like verdict on driving depth or ease of use is not established.

Do you want mods or official multiplayer formats?
Pick Assetto Corsa for PC customization
Assetto Corsa’s Steam page explicitly discusses modding and customization. That is a concrete reason to favor the PC version if user-made content is important to you. Keep the platform qualifier in mind: the cited modding description is for the Steam listing, not a guarantee that console editions offer the same options.
Pick Forza Motorsport for its named meetups and ongoing updates
Forza Motorsport’s product listing and update notes describe multiplayer, while Update 20 introduced Open Track Day and Drift Meetups. The update rollout began May 5, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Microsoft Store and Steam. These are specific examples of its structured online offerings, not evidence of current player counts or a guarantee that an event is active at any particular time. Update 20 is a dated snapshot, not confirmation of the newest 2026 update state.

Assetto Corsa’s Steam page also describes online multiplayer and customizable race weekends. The available descriptions establish different options, but do not show which game currently has more players or more active servers.
Can you play with a controller, keyboard or wheel?
Assetto Corsa’s Steam description says: “Enjoy ASSETTO CORSA using any kind of game device: keyboard, joypad, joystick, steering wheels including any kind of professional device and the most common motion systems.” The same listing mentions Oculus and OpenVR/VIVE compatibility. These are product-page claims, not a present-day compatibility guarantee for every device, operating system or headset.

Forza Motorsport’s Update 20 notes mention improvements to racing-wheel features. A wheel is optional, not a requirement established for either game. Before buying or connecting one, confirm that the specific wheel model supports your console or PC platform and the game version you plan to use.

- Verify your equipment if a particular wheel, headset or motion system is central to your decision; broad storefront compatibility language is not model-specific confirmation.
For the PC player weighing customization against structured online events, Assetto Corsa’s listed modding and setup features point toward the former, while Forza Motorsport’s named meetups point toward the latter. Neither is supported here as a universal winner.
